It has two motors driving the drum, and which are linked together with the pulley. I wonder why they designed it like that rather than one bigger motor

No space for one big motor, also the control system for speed control takes advantage of the two motors.

why did they have two motors ? i have never seen any other domestic washer have double motors .

Lack of space for one big motor. Also they run a fascinating series-parallel AC-DC speed control that takes advantage of both motors.

why does the motor become faster while tumbling in contrarotation mode

Because the gearbox essentially reduces the speed from the motors several times. The motors have to turn faster to get the same drum speed.
