Shortcut Chicken and Dumplings Using Canned Biscuits

This is one of my favorite recipes. It's perfect for 2 people.
4 tbsp butter
1 chopped carrot
1 chopped celery stalk
1/4 chopped onion
1 garlic clove
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
4 cups chicken broth (thick soup)
1/2 to 3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp Italian seasonings
2 cups chicken
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 tsp turmeric optional
I used 3 Grand biscuits

I love cream of chicken anything. And that's basically what this is, cream of chicken soup with biscuits on top... so good!

I am so glad i saw this.. cause i was out of crisco.. and wasnt sure how to make dumplins without bisquick.... i do have a can of biscuits... yay... im gonna make them for din din tonight

I bet the canned biscuits are really good in it. Every dumpling I've had was kind of just gooey flour. 😅 I make spaetzle instead, but that's a lot of work! This looks much easier and tastier. 😃❤

Hi Patricia, it's kind of funny, I can make a recipe in different ways and there will always be somebody who doesn't agree with my method. lol I post my recipes in various pages. I was told by some folks that "canned biscuits are just not the same"...blah blah lol I LOVED this recipe. It is perfect for 2 people. I had to control myself, because I wanted more, more, more...lol
Should be able to skip the flour if you are going to use heavy cream
