I like the fixture. I have a student who wants to make a Strat body in my CNC class (high school) but sadly we don't have a vacuum system. However, as a guitar player who's had many Strats, you made a couple oopsies on the round over. On the back there's not enough room for a neck mounting plate to sit flush all the way around. The round over ends within the upper and lower cutaways so that the neck mounting area is flat. The edges will extend beyond the rounded edge now. Also didn't make the top round over follow the contour, so the arm contour has no rounded edge.

Thanks for the tips Bob! I’m currently making a vacuum table for my 23 and was thinking about fixturing exactly like you did here. Good to know I’m on the right track!

Great video. In VCarve Pro, How did you create the tool path to just cut the contours of the 3D model where it didn’t cut the flat part of the body? Did you create a boundary?

Bob, How would you approach this same project if you needed to make sure a particular part on the blank lines up with a particular part on the finished product? For example, if the blank was a 2-piece blank and you wanted to make sure the glue-line ended up perfectly centered on the guitar?

Sorry not sure we are understanding what you mean - for any time you need to line something up we always recommend using a form of fixture or reference points.
