Shopping STADSFEESTZAAL, Antwerpen
It was designed by Alexis van Mechelen. The building is on the Meir, one of the most important shopping streets in Antwerp. A second entrance leads from the Hopland into the city festival hall. For a long time, the city festival hall hosted art exhibitions, the antique market, the book market, the motor show and many different events. In 2000 a fire destroyed almost the entire building.
The city ballroom was renovated and converted into a luxury shopping center, which opened on October 25, 2007. The aim of the renovation was to position Antwerp even more strongly as a shopping metropolis. Special features are the champagne bar and the world's first Tommy Hilfiger tailor-made shop.
