At your age you still don't do the washing? 😮 Seriously though this is one of the more useful videos on shopping in Spain I have seen. I am not at all bothered about British brands however the reason brands like Heinz baked beans have gone up, although they have also gone up in the UK with everything else, now post brexit there are strict restrictions and we can no longer from the UK bring in anything dairy, meat or vegetable based. So in fact the majority of food which is a pain. The main thing for me is evaporated milk (not to be confused with the sweet syrupy condensed milk). I used to always bring a can or two to tide me over when travelling to countries in Europe. I use it daily in my coffee. I understand though it is commonplace in supermarkets in Spain and is Leche evaporado. Speaking of coffee I dont know if you drink real coffee or instant, which I hate. Can you recommend any decent coffee beans or ground. I understand I should go for the naturale, nothing added, and I like a decent strength. I am not a tea drinker so coffee is most important to me. Everything else I don't really care, although like you I love my English mustard I understand butter is expensive as the Spanish don't tend to use on bread as we do. Hey you may not have got 100% right your pronunciation of paella but hey 95% is good enough for me. It is a bugbear of mine when people make no effort to pronounce it right 😂 I am going to save this video and subscribe to see what other useful info you have. I am still hoping to move out there in my old age even though now a lot more hoops to jump through. Either way I am considering a three month stay next winter to get used to living rather than holidaying. I hope to see more shopping videos and thanks for this one. Now go put a wash on ❤

Thank you for your comments, we will be making more shopping videos soon. I don't drink much coffee, but all the Mercadona ground coffee seem to be popular, the butter (mantequilla) Hacandado brand is ok. Thank you for following.

Hiya this might sound silly but I heard you have orange trees. How close are you to magic hotels as I'd love to come in October if they're stil growing then on my bucket list is picking an orange off a tree xxx

Very good video overall guys, very informative.... however, would like to pick you up on a couple of points if that's ok. Merluza is not pollock. It's hake.very popular in the UK and other northern countries..if you like fish...Dorada is gilt head bream. Paella, yes most pronounce the double l incorrectly, however, you added an extra syllable. Its not pa-i-eyha its Pa-ehya..overall well done..great video for true British expats who don't really want the 'full Spanish breakfast' but enjoy the idea of not being an immigrant..alas, since brexit...well....

@@lunaandtheexpats we are staying near malguetta beach, is mercadona the best place for shopping on budget ? Also we plan to do the rio chiller river walk im nerja -i wonder if you know is it dried up at the moment. Also have been hearing about the extreme heat wave ,hopefully it will be cooler on 24 August ( thats our date of arrival). We are planning to shop at atrazana market, is this just a tourist trap with inflated prices? for our 8 nights we are wondering how many day trips to do and to which cities to go to. we are thinking 1) granada for the alhambra 2) marabrella for beaches then maybe ronda? or seville? or codoba?would love your advice thanks. we are 3 adults and 2 kids

@@kazihabiurrahman3543 Mercadona is the largest supermarket in Spain, DIA and ALDI are the cheapest, Carrefour the best. It may be cooler when you are here if its still hot stay near the coast inland can be 10 degrees warmer. Food markets tend to be for locals not tourist traps. Alhambra yes. Marbella ok. Rhonda ok. Seville yes. Cordoba ok. Not sure if it will be dry but should be ok. Hope you have a great time.
