Another thing is don’t 100% trust Dekra reports. Take them as a first step then get it inspected properly by a qualified mechanic

Yes, that's 100% true. WeBuyCars mechanics only do visual inspections. Don't go based on their inspection. Test drive the car for urself. I bought a car there this year & it had issues before I could even change it to my name. In future I will never buy a car from them ever again.

They move the cars around between dealerships because most have a fleet facility with the banks where the first 60 days are interest free. Don’t be surprised if you see the same car back at the first dealership you spotted it at again.

Muzi I hope you read this.When I was kid in the in the late 80s early 90s i always enjoyed seeing a BMW inline six fill up an engine bay accompanied by the signature engine sound. From then on it stuck with me that a BMW must have 6 cylinders and up, no compromise. Forget that 4 banger diesel thing, get an m135 and up, it's gonna put a smile on your face guaranteed.I Currently have one and it's hands down best car I've owned.

@@t.kmartin1026 I have heard people drive those Diesel Bimmers all the way to 300k Km's without major problems so if they are clean you can buy 1 which the seller is selling mainly because it's now out of maintenance plan.

Some dealerships don’t have enough cash flow to buy cars cash so they use what they call floorplan. This floor plan allows you to get finance as a dealership to buy stock and you aren’t charged interest for the first 60 days. You’re then charged interest when the car is still not sold after 60 days hence the car was moved from one dealership to the other as a way to avoid interest on the car

It took me 9 months+ looking for a good quality BMW. One thing that I've noticed that the best cars get bought at auction or immediately after being on auction (always), that's where you need to look at, the new arrivals (there's literally no time to monitor prices) I missed a car because I waited 4 days. Eventually I got mine with 80k on clock, 2015 model, with sunroof and all, service history up to date and I still service it at BMW, and it was R200k, 2 years ago. Cape Town and Durban are the best places to find good BMWs on webuycars, the problem is viewing the car.

The only reason that's stopping you from buying a Lexus is that they have a low resale value, other than that they are the best option if you are looking for a second hand luxury car because they are cheaper (not popular), they are reliable, fixable, costs less to maintain and Lexus owners don't abuse their cars.

Great insights. Managed to get a great 2018 320d with a clean Dekra report a month ago for under R400k at WeBuyCars at one of the JHB branches. You must have missed it but I know it stayed on the floor for 2 days. I agree with the advice to test drive and get a mechanic to also check it for you.

I think he only checks the one where he lives and Limpopo (like he said in the video). Muzi does not live in Joburg and was not looking at the Jhb prices online.

That Lexus is in a class of its own. They are solid, beautifully made (in Japan), and cost relatively little to maintain, if you shop around with the parts. Not that they break very often. That 177kw 2.0 turbo is thirsty, but reliable as hell. 6 speed auto is bulletproof. Ask me how I know😊.

I own the same car. Nothing wrong with it so far. It’s 180kw and 350nm from a 2.0 turbo. Fuel consumption is not bad.

So there I was helping my fellow new colleague to go buy a car, During the picking process I was able to identify cars that have been in an accidents, and were able to find nice polo vivo at good price. Fellow viewers do not go to Jhb looking for a car, there are lots of Nigerians selling scraps. If you do stick with reputable dealers, they do have trade INS.....

The Lexus is nice. But the sound of those big M’s idling ❤ As an ex BMW owner, BMW is an emotional buy. The way they drive, the sound of the straight 6. The young boy in me wishes he could afford an M car

Hi Muzi, I like ur used bmw search, I'm a Bima fan myself. My comment would be to stay away from an n20 engine, look at a 320i with a b48 engine/ a 320d with a b57 engine or ultimately the 340i with the mighty b58 engine. I'll keep following this search. All the best love ur content man.

Hi Muzi, i had a look at the Dekra report of the M5, and it all seemed fine except for the tires and doors. What is it about the vehicle that makes you hesistant about it?

If I were out shopping for a car and got given advice from a random stranger, I would want to engage them further on the topic. I'm one of those buyers who uses his/my head instead of my heart when it comes to making such a major purchasing choice. So yes I would definitely welcome a stranger's opinion on a car I was interested in purchasing. I've driven used and new cars, and with experience I consult online forums from previous owners or mechanics who have worked on the car. I'm also a petrol fan instead of diesel. I believe diesel belongs in tractors, buses, trucks and bakkies - not in a hatchback or sedan. That's just my opinion and based on experience with DSG and diesels of the early 2000s. Yes they saved on fuel costs but the diesel engines were less reliable than petrol equivalents. Look at Europe banning diesel cars. Diesel fans will be excited in the next decade when the European used diesel cars are dumped to South America and Africa (left hand steering wheel markets).

But that M5.....buy it man. If you die, you die.😁

You’re wrong about the M135, it’s definitely worth the price. They don’t make that engine in rear wheel drive anymore. 136 000 is a lot but your challenge is literally for a high mileage BMW. I’d hold out for the diesel M sport though, have one and I’ve never been happier

between the 135 and the M5 the logical choice would be the 135i, the emotional one is the M5. have your heard of the terms M tax.. that the price of driving an M. the 135 would be cheaper to run in all aspects. those N55 are solid engines. and those things are monsters. The only rear wheel drive hatchback. That said the 320d is even more logical. The lexus even more so. Buts for a 2 car garage which wont bankrupt you, the suzuki as a daily and the 135 is the toy

I'm never going near WeBuyCars ever again. I bought a 2015 Opel OPC from them with a passed Derka sticker but the problems that followed after was a nightmare. Thankfully I fixed the car out of my pocket. WeBuyCars and Innovation "warranty" people were useless.

@@JAYLEEvanSLOAN that warranty they force you buy is useless. I canceled it and they paid me back all of it. They expect you to fix the car and pay you back or take your car to crappie garages like Car Service City. I took my OPC to Opel Menlyn and they refused to refund me. I then canceled their warranty and service plan. They were forced to refund me. I got the car for R200k after I negotiated from finished brakes, dirty seats and paint that needed some serious correction. With a R30k deposit. But Opel fixed the car nicely for me at a bill of R22k, as they found the front bearing and speed sensor to be faulty. I don't trust that Derka report.

Sho bafo, I say take that 320d up for a price negotiation and test drive. I also agree the price is a bit steep but it has fairly low mileage. I drive a 2009 116i that I bought in June 2021 and trust me... beamer can give you random migraines bafo. There's no spare wheel compartment which technically force you to buy run flats and for interest sake, most beamers I know including mine are very low... when borrowing Mama ka Snowy be sure to ask politely not to speed through bumpy roads. The M5 could be one of the best financial mistakes in your life. If you do buy I suggest selling in the next 6 months.

@5:43 be careful of bad resale value and bad fuel economy on the Lexus.

I've been holding back buying since, like you seem to be experiencing with looking for the BMW, even used car prices are ridiculous. In fact the used car market is so bad it sometimes makes sense to just buy brand new instead of a low mileage used car.
