Wish they didn't take the piss with their pricing in Candyzone. Is it really that difficult to import the food and sell at say a 50 per cent mark up as opposed to like 300 percent mark uo. I am pretty sure there is a pretty big market for American food in this country so I doubt scale is a problem.

If people buy it, why wouldn't the business do that? I simply wouldn't buy it if I thought it was too expensive. Some stuff isn't even that good anyway, the one thing we have in this country that's better than America is sweets and chocolate. They have the fast food, we have the candy.

@@mrchode3641 Its short sighted. I would buy a lot of American Candy from that store if it was better priced. I think the market view will shift and eventually they will understand better the demand for American products. As a result the price will then drop. I just wish the penny would drop a bit sooner.

Saw this shop in Oxford street today. Went in for a browse. Picked up a bag of Cheetos and asked the price. £9.99??! 🤬off.

I was wondering: How can the market support 9 identical candy stores on Oxford Street (which has some of the highest retail rents in Britain)? Especially when you almost never see any customers in these shops (after all, tourists to Britain are not really here to buy American candy). I did some research and it turns out these are all money laundering operations for organised crime. Candy is chosen because they are the sorts of items people would typically buy in cash; plus they have very long shelf lives. In other words, even though hardly anyone is actually buying these sweets, you can claim that you are making huge cash sales (while keeping the same stock on the shelves for years) - and that is how you explain the fortune you are actually earning from drugs and other illegal activities.

I went into one of these shops in Oxford street over the jubilee and the store worker was dodgy as fu** started arguing with me and my wife when I put something back on the shelf and I commented it was a rip off. Started being very aggressive and he kept changing the price as we were walking out. My wife who’s Korean made a comment that she bets they’re all illegals working in there. I’m making a complaint to trading standards tomorrow morning.

It’s a money laundering scam owned by Afghanistan family who own it and change the name every year or so. It’s dodgy as f**k and the store workers change their prices around like your bartering in another country. Walked out of one in disgust and the store worker started insulting me in whatever language he was speaking. Turned round took several photos of him and he started yelling at me and I’m reporting him to reading standards tomorrow.

Millionaire's latte from McDonald's, 2 star product just throwing this out there. Would feel bad if I was a billionaire and wasted £2 odd on it let alone a millionaire. Cold cream and a small lashing of caramel syrup flung on top of luke warm "hot" chocolate (no hint of coffee). Such a poor product for the price.
