In this video we're going to answer the question which one should you do should you start a Shopify store or should you start an Etsy store we're going to go over the pros and cons of both and answer might surprise you that will come at the end.
Pros
Shopify
•Built for Ecommerce
•You Own Everything
•Your Customers
•Integrates with Pinterest, PLAs
And a ton of things
Etsy
•Tons of Traffic
•somewhat Free
•Much Easier to get Starter (Kind of)
Cons
Shopify
•You need 3rd Party Apps
•Fees for using a 3rd party payment gateway
•Semi Pricey
Etsy
•They Own your Soul
•Rules Rules Rules
•Fees
•Not Your Customers
•Not as Professional
The answer here do both I mean I talked about the pros and cons here you should start an FPS or and start your own Shopify store period start with that see first if you want to test the market and then you can focus more on your own Shopify store to grow sales because SC there's going to be a cap to how much you can sell on SP now with your own Shopify store you can raise that cap way higher and and you really own the traffic when it's on your own top side store so just as a side note if you do want to start a Shopify store which I highly recommend you get a free -day trial by clicking up here or down the in the show notes and when you use that free trial.
I get a little small if you end up throwing the shop bag I get a little small kickback which means I'm going to give you a free 30-minute one-on-one consultation so if you click on this link or that link down below try the 30-day free trial and if you do like Shopify I'll give you a free one-on-one consultation so that's a pretty good offer here so you can try it out if you don't like it stop don't use it but my answer would be start an Etsy and start a Shopify store so you can have a physical presence and still seem very professional you like this video make sure you click that subscribe button down below and if you haven't already get the online store success fact I have checklists in there on how to start your online store so if you are serious about starting online store you got to get that and there's also access to a Facebook group the private Facebook group that only people that are members here and then watch these videos get to be a part of so if you want access to that click up here and last but not least if you have any questions please leave them in the comments down below and I'm here to answer your questions guys so if you have any e-commerce questions please let me know and I'll see you in the next video and thank you so much for watching this
Assume all links in the video & description are affiliate links and that by using them you are supporting the channel, so thank you!

I have both stores. There are pros and cons with both. Shopify is very hard to set up so you may find yourself having to hire someone at shopify to do it for you. I've suspected that shopify deliberately sets it up that way. I hired one of their "gurus" to make my shop look nicer. This was a huge mistake. They did make it look better but they also messed up things like my menus and blogs. I had a lot of work to do over again because of them. Just keep in mind that shopify can end up costing you a lot of money.

etsy seller here you dont get tons of traffic anymore, Etsy changed their algorithm so its extremely difficult to get traffic now, you have to literally be an SEO god, have perfect descriptions and killer content. I make sales but lot of my peers shops have closed business and I can watch all my competitors through marmalead and etsyrank the sales are no more than 100 a day and thats not good if you have 1500-2500 in listings

Great video! I love this. I sold on Etsy full time for over 5 years I had about 8000 sales and my biggest mistake was not building out my shopify store sooner. I was just getting traffic to my shopify store before I had to close down. Etsy= fast, easy quick and Shopify= time, harder learning curve, better in the long run! Thank your for the info. My biggest tip to any new Etsy seller is build your own website don't just rely on Etsy.

Thank you for your review. I also looked into Etsy Plus and was considering it. I use Promoted listings and have made more sales using it, but I don't pay much per day to use the Promoted listings. Purchasing a domain name is not worth it to me. I already have a store where I use a domain to sell my products. I'm using Google Adwords and Facebook to market my products on my site. After reviewing the Etsy Plus, I was not really impressed, but after watching your review, it only verified many of the things I saw with Etsy Plus. I will not be getting it. Maybe they are trying to compete with Ebay in some way. I would like to see the option of getting unlimited listings or be able to list more products without being charged. $5 is nothing to me when you consider the fact, I list and have many products. Again, thank you,

I want to make a enamel pin shop. So I did some research of what kind of enamel pins can be sold on Etsy. I’ve seen a bunch of people selling mash up design. For example, popular tv show/movies like stranger things mashing with the Simpson. The shop owner design the mash up but not really that actual character. They were able to sell plenty of those products. But on the Etsy terms I read that you cannot take another person’s original artwork to added to your own. But when I googled it. people who owns a Etsy shop said you can. I’m so confused on which theory is actually true because if you really can’t take another person’s original art to design around it, wouldn’t those shop be violating the rule and get ban? Sorry I’m not good at explaining things. Hope you understand what I was saying. XD so I was wondering are you allow to design around another’s artist artwork?

It's a gray area. I sell my own original patch/pin designs on Etsy and sometimes I see people selling counterfeit versions of my stuff. I have to report those to Etsy, but that doesn't prevent people from trying. A Simpsons/Stranger thing mashup could be considered fair-use, but the only reason you're able to sell them is not because of your fine design skills, but because people recognize the characters that other people own and have marketed. You only get sales because of the name recognition, so therefore you're making money off another person's work... is that legal? Hard to say. Some would fall under parody or satire. Sometimes a character like Bart Simpson is so ubiquitous that it almost feels like it's a public domain image, but it's really not. But that doesn't stop people from selling images with his likeness. They just do it and make their money until they get a takedown request from the copyright owner. Seems like part of the game. Is it ethical? Not really. But to each their own.

Listen, don't get me wrong, I'm not encouraging IP teft. Let's talk about Shopify only. I would definitely appreciate more if Shopify has given explanation why they've done that - at least to make things clear. The point of punishment is to discourage a specific behavior. If authority is not clear what is to be discouraged, they leave space for misinterpretation. Authority based on force will last as long as the potential offender is within the reach of the authority.
