I design and fabricate my own windage tray/baffle plate for my oil pans, and if you race a Miata, the odds are very good that you have one of my designs in there right now! Our friends at Mazda Motorsports sell the tray that I originally designed, built, and tested almost 20 years ago! So why wouldn't I take Mazda2 to that same level and quit starving for oil in the Carousel at Road America? Easy decision!

Jesse, we had the same issue running the B16’s in our CRX’s. The cure is a NEW out of the box OEM Distributor. The problem is the runout in the bearings.
Thx for the info on the Goodson tool. Subaru uses the same buckets for the 2.5 turbo engines with the 2.0 using a shim on bucket. There has been a times where getting them from Subaru can be a problem with availability.
Check to see that the shield hasn’t been removed from behind the rotor on the B series.
Doesn't grinding a lifter remove its hard face or is it hardened throughout so grinding isn't a problem? Neat tool, nice solution, still need to have a small stockpile of lifters but nothing like the hundreds you have.

Under the top of the lifter inside I wouldn't say it's very hard. I've used this tool and ground these lifters for a few years with great success so there you go!
