    I am glad I caught this video! I was stuck on removing my front differential. I removed my rear one and did the seal like you did, but I added a bunch of grease into the planetary gear system and ran some into the axial on both sides and some seal. So far, I have gotten an extra 3 miles in speed out of it. Now that I get how the front one comes out I am going to grease that one up as well and see if I can beat that 35 mph top speed! Thanks, Kevin!

    Great job Kevin, another great repair/upgrade vid. Glad you got the Center drive replaced with the aluminum one. Mine is great, no issues but I don't go as hard on my udr as you do. I figured this would be a good test for your udr and your bashing sessions. My car isn't a shelf queen, I just don't jump as high as you take your cars.😊 BTW I agree about the aluminum trailing arms. If they break the body or frame, the frame would be a pain in the a$$ to replace..Thanks for sharing dude👍🏿

    Hi Kevin. You probably don't read my comments at all. I wanted to say thank you for doing this video on the rear differential. I did this job this morning on my UDR and sealed it like you did. I also, regressed the whole differential. The job worked out well and maybe just because I don't have the body on. I was using my 4s Lipo and was getting my truck on 2 wheels a few times. I am so shocked and totally jagged at the same time! Thank you for putting out this video! It helped out so much!

    seen a few comments on other channels about grit getting inside the transmission, front and rear diffs. So before taking mine out, spent a couple days this weekend tearing mine down and seeing why and if I could prevent this. I think what is happening and probably can't see it unless using a high speed camera to record it, the components flex during impacts, creating gaps between the mating surfaces. How else can you explain particles inside that can't fit between the surfaces normally? For now just a liberal application of Marine Grease before reassmbly is what I am doing. Odd that it has a silicone seal at the rear output of the transmission, but none on the front or either differentials input. Hope your solution works. I also suggest that you find another choice of cleaner rather than Brake Clean. Where I work we have used it to clean up oils and fuels.. when it comes into contact with plastic polymers it has made them brittle and prone to cracking. Most especially polycarbonate.. several pairs of safety glasses and wristwatch faces have been damaged by overspray and splash. Now we just use Grez - Off.

  • @SevanDonikian
    @SevanDonikian6 жыл бұрын

    Probably got some silicone sealant in the gears mate, once it hardens bits will break off and gum up the gears. You would of been better off using marine grease.

    Hi friend, I'm from Brazil and I have some questions. I would be very happy if you would help me! I have already discovered that it is necessary to apply grease to the outer gears of the differentials, but I really wanted to know if I should also grease the gears of the engine. Example: 6448 parts: Spur gear, 8985: Input gear transmission, both from Traxxas Maxx. Another question is that the center differential gear comes into contact with a motor gear, should I grease it too? Part 8988. Inside Driveshaft 8949, do I also need to apply grease?
