This is the video that made Ableton Live 'click' for me. Thank you so much!
This Video is awesome, so inspiring and motivating to create new music. The possibilities are endless and the limits are only set by your own creativity. Thank you guys for constantly uploading amazing and inspiring videos. You have no idea how much you help encourage new creations and artists around the world. Thank you PB
At 1:35 he holds a record by Bruno Spoerri. Timbaland produced a track called versus for Jay z and it actually has in it a sample used without without permission from this exact LP shown here. The Jay z track is called "versus" and he used a sample from a Bruno Spoerri track called "On The Way".Jay z agreed to split royalties with Spoerri.

as i recall, spoerri sued jay z and got left with something round 10`000$. wouldnt really call that agreeing on splitting royalities :)
I used to buy records from Hon before he had the shop it was at the back of a warehouse space round the corner. You'd have to walk through the kitchen whilst the tenants were eating their breakfast :D Top vinyl Pimp!
Glad to see this art form is still being taught. You're an amazing instructor dude.
+Ski Oakenfull you need to make a second edition of this. almost two years. would be so great, i learned so much from you doing this!
One of my favorite tutorials!!! Thank you for this.
Very inspiring vid. I have been loving this channel since I discovered it six months ago. This particular episode is fantastic. You guys have come onto something here, and I would love to see this challenge put to some more of your instructors to see what they would do as well. Never the less, great job Ski! I believe I just might get myself a turntable tomorrow...Cheers.
I've learnt more watching this than half a dozen other attempts at teaching sampling in ableton. Spot on.
This is absolutely incredible! Thank you!!
Absolutely amazing genius work! Thank you Ski! I love everything about this video: the beat, the creativity, the technique with Ableton and Push, etc! Wow!
Ski - thank you for doing this. You make it look piss easy. The second I remotely think about trying this, my head hurts :( Keep up the good work! If only I could afford an online course - these videos are brilliant...
All the pointblank/ski videos are great. thanks
Great tutorial and great taste in music! The whole process with Live and Push instead of an mpc represents a true innovation of the old school way. Quicker and more effective. Thx alot

Awesome video! No hidden knowledge, but very straightforward and practical suggestions...30 minutes of actual content, not the usual "blah....*click*...blah....*click*..." that goes on for 30 minutes and that you just wish you hadn't watched.
This was a lot of fun to watch, thanks!

Got my Mk3 keyboard and a keypad.... just the beginning of learning Ableton..This is very inspiring. Been dreaming of this for years....I'm not a musician little experience with piano....I'm a choir singer with a gifted ear...more a parot than a music reader. I can't sight read though I've been taught a few times...it never sticks. This should be fun and a challenge. Thank you for your amazing work.
Great job !
Huge inspiration right here.

+azfiu if your looking for a good way to sample. Try ableton live paired with an MPD. an mpd 18 is 100$ and it works great. as far as the software goes you can buy it or torrent it ether way happy beat making.

+azfiu ableton is way more flexible than machine i have both machine and ableton so from my experience i say ableton is overall better than machine except machine has a sick library of sounds but if you combine them both its a sick set up and you can do so much more
These Top 4 and 5 year old conversation made me subscribe... lol This was really helpful for an idea I had. and a really funny insight...Thank you.
Omg!!!! This was so dope. Cant afford push 2 yet, but i just got the 1, and this was helpful. Cheers!
That last sample was the best. Reminds me Come Clean from Jeru the Damaja.
this was amazing
Excellent.
GREAT COMBINATION
I've said it before....Ski's a genius!

That Foxy Brown hooked me and reeled me right in too....
This was an awesome tutorial man, so straight forward, and simple, ive got a little Numark PT1 scratch i think its called, going to rifle some samples into ableton and maybe use some of the Maschine MK3 capability for playing as i dont have a push. So awesome.
I know this is an older video but thank you Ski!
Great Video.
this video help me a lot thanks.

This what DJs should do period!
That was cool, cheers
I must have a look through my approximately 10,000 vinyl's in my loft. I'm sure I could find a few gem samples in there. Great video to inspire my juices mate 👍
