Hey man, I have an 03 mazdaspeed protege that I’m fixing up, it’s throwing a few codes and will shut off if idled while driving, like if left in manual or if I accelerated. I’d love to maybe get in contact with you just over the phone one time so maybe I can mooch off on some of your Mazda smarts. Im typically a European car guy so this is new to me.

I’m thinking about doing an engine swap myself on this car in particular, what engines do you think fit well and I am willing to change it from front wheel. Drive to all wheel or even rear wheel.

if you want more views then you probably should keep posting stuff like this it will probably get you more customers and recognition i am particularly interested in the neon but if you do stuff like this and its your primary income then you will do good at advertising i am only 15 but i believe that you are going in the right direction just keep it up and you will get there

Unfortunately, no. It's back to the customer, and they are using it as we speak.

Im having smoke come out of my exhaust and my oil consumption is preposterous. Pretty sure my piston rings are bad. Do you think it would be better to have the protege engine rebuilt or replaced? And also how much does a job like you did cost?

Be easier to replace and cheaper. Engines could had @ 1k and under depending on milage and condition. Now if you was a customer there would be a slight increase in price because I don't work for free, but doing this on your own you could do the job for around 1.5k ish. I had to replace lots of things with this car from sitting soo long. You wouldn't have to be so thorough.
