No, they have different etymologies. Lyre comes from various musical instruments, kind of like harps -- Gk. Lura, for example. Liar comes from a Middle-English Leogere, to lie, plus a suffix meaning "one who does." The only thing in common is the phonetic similarity.

I cant wait till they get to that "sproing sproing sproing, hiss hiss, sideways sproing" stage that invariably ends with one or both of them launching themselves in a vertical hover mode then transition into a "full velcro," knuckle deep claw latch onto Tony's bluejeans. And ending up perilously close to his "smooth criminals" on a Sir Edmond Hillary style climb to the top. (Yeah. I've had cats before. Lots of cats. Some starting at the "just add water" stage.)

I take a less precise approach to measuring windscreen wiper runout. Roll down the workshop shutter enough to spot weld the wipers to it (a good solid mounting point). Turn the wipers on and measure the suspension sag, side to side and back to front. This can tell you, to a reasonable level of accuracy, that you've wasted another afternoon procrastinating.

Thanks for the followup about screws. My bike project came out great. I mounted a 2inch thick cooler to it by 4 metric star headed bolts. Now I can put it on and off toollessly. Maybe even thinking of mounting a bearing on there to pull a trailer.

I've never been a cat kind of a guy but those mighty Kittens transitions when you changed subjects just made me "Ohhh, so cute...".

Maybe make it with a spring between the screw part and the knurled wheel. That is how a fixed carburettor on a nitro RC engine can be adjusted... The spring will allow you to turn the screw but will bend under side load, keeping screw and carburettor in one piece.
