For those who didn't notice, there WAS a target in the NIGHT segment, a neon lighted radio controlled aircraft and he was engaging it. At the end of the clip, he took it out, You hear the cheering when he does!

When we were shooting in the air force it was 1to 9 for tracers. Then nvgs made it 1 to 18 and it still looks like a laser

We had a CRAM outside our hooch in Iraq. That thing can really pump out the rounds. They did a test fire every week but it defeated incoming motors and rockets almost daily.

The GAU 134 is impressive all by itself to put it mildly, at 77 rds per second x 4 thats 400.00 per second to fire this setup! A few years ago a transferable 134 came onto the market I believe its final selling price was around 400K! Now we see 4 of them in one setup, 1.6 million just for the guns and 400.00 per second to fire it, and that old ammo pricing!

77x4 is 308rps fyi, which whould be about 225$ a second at bulk pricing today. The 134 GAU-17 can fire up to 100 rounds per second (2000-6000rpm)

IN VN it was barrel changes at 1,000,000 rds (USAF), Army-when the bores were smooth :-). Our gunshop guys (USAF) used to do the required 1Mil barrrel changes, then take our old barrels to Army gunshop and trade them for cases of steaks. Logistics would only count barrels when turning in the old ones. Win win, Army got usable barrels, we got steak night.
