Just amazing John! You got some beautiful shots with that set up. I see the R5 is getting a decent firmware upgrade soon. Be interesting to see how the camera performs after it, even though already it's pretty awesome.

Does your 500mm lens "IS" constantly run when switched on? My 500mm V1 Image Stabilizer runs all the time. My 5D IV only activates my 500mm IS when the shutter button is halfway pressed for focusing.

Hey, John. Some beautiful photographs and videos. I especially enjoyed the bokeh and background colors. And speaking of the EF 500mm f/4 IS (original), I used the same lens to very good effect - until the image stabilization broke when a friend dropped the lens. The version II was pretty good too. Wishing you continued good shooting.

I missed this comment - please accept my apology. I LOVE this set up. The only lens that I am still trying to figure out how to afford is the EF 800mm. When I had that...... WOW. My 500 F4 is version one and still just an awesome lens!!! 🙏🤗💖

You are getting rain in Southern California while we are staying rather dry in the Seattle area. Not what you would expect. Nice video as always.

Great video! I have the r5 and thinking about hetting a used 500mm f4. What telconverter do i i het ? The rf one or the ef one?

If you are buying a used EF 500 F4, you will need an EF teleconverter. The on I have and used with my 500 F4 and now with my 600 F4 III is theCanon Extender EF 1.4X III - www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/732113-USA/Canon_4409B002_Extender_EF_1_4X_III.html You can get them used as well. It works flawlessly on the EF-RF adapter. 🙏💖🤗
