Shooting Natural Light Portraits on Kodak Gold 200 & Kodak Portra 400 | Mamiya RZ67 Pro II

Фильм және анимация

Shooting natural light portraits is my favourite type of portrait photography. In today's video, I take it back to basics with model Dion, shooting a roll of Kodak Gold 200 and a roll of Kodak Portra 400 with the Mamiya RZ67 Pro II.

every video you put out makes me feel so much more confident to go out and shoot people/friends/clients. the slowing down process is something that i'm really looking forward to if i'm afforded it by the situation. i love the photos and dion's presence, i'd probably looked for a different palette in the background when shooting outside just to detach him from the background a little more, but absolutely love these shots and your work, thank you for sharing it

Loved the use of lighting behind him when you were outside. All the photos are great.

Actually love the ones that don’t have much going on in the background. The first digital one with the grey background really stands out to me. Maybe his tattoos make the photo busy so a simple background works for me? Love them all, as always 👊

Since this camera don't have a built in meter how did you meter the film portraits before the shoot? Your creativity is great.

really good video! Please drop your f stop and shutter speed during your final shots! Also huge question! Did you increase your shutter speed to compensate for the middle grey when metering or do you push the film when developing

Thank you! For these I just used the settings off of my digital to get started and then adjusted by eye but previously I used to use a phone app!

@@SophiaCarey I’ll be carrying around my mirrorless camera most of the time alongside my film camera, such an obvious way to light meter meter why didn’t I think of this before 😂😭
