Shonen Knife put out albums in 91, 92, & 93. But after Kurt died in 94, Shonen Knife didn't put out a record until 96. It includes the song Keep on Rockin'--which I don't see how it can be about anything else than a tribute to Kurt, given the lyrics... "Felt dreamy inspiration when I saw you yesterday" ... "You gave me an emotion almost lost my way" ... "I felt fascination when I sang your song today" ... "Got your invitation everything's going okay" ... "Keep on rockin'"

It seems more like a huge thing now than it was back then though, believe me. Nirvana was popular, but they got bigger and their legend grew as the years went on after Kurt killed himself. I'm just being honest, as I was a 20 yr old fan myself back then.
Dave thinking: but isn't ABBA a tiny bit better?
No one disliked this? That's interesting. I'm curious why that is? Is it that only a fan would find this video? Or maybe could it be that Shonen knife arent familiar to western audience so it doesn't trigger dislike reaction? Or is it that this music is impossible to dislike? Lol!

It's because all dislikes are HIDDEN now, only the person who uploaded the video can view it

You definately got that right! Take a few classes on film editing fcs, before doing it. The learn as you go approach is very annoying, especially when people are trying to dial in on the connection shared between these two very different kinds of bands!

Atsuko the drummer is cute. Shes the bassist now. I wish there was still the original linup with Michie on bass.
Como si no hiciesen el mono lo suficiente.
I wanna be Twist Barbie!

I can't believe we dropped two A bombs on these people. Btw, I learned the whole Pretty Baka Guy album and part of 712 on guitar back in the late 90s.
Stupid background music over the interview. What did the filmmaker think? They're just cute so you don't need to hear what they say

It would be nice to be able hear their (Shonen Knife) perspective. This is like watching the Power Puff Girls before a Nirvana show. Now that's a yin and yanger for ya.
