The Angels stink with or without Shotime though. What are the Bills and Chiefs without Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes. They go from SB favorites to 6-7 win teams. He’s the most amazing athlete in the world in my opinion, but no MLB player can ever have the impact an elite S-tier QB has. 17 games compared to 162.

Will that end the future of future MVP records and excitement, like in the year 2065 we'll have a new MVP with a good season and hits 59 homeruns...and everybody alive today will be like that's great but we had this one guy named Ohtani, you wouldn't understand why we don't care about a regular 1 way player that might hit 59 homeruns.

I'm not an expert but my guess would be: Pitchers spend their time perfecting their craft throwing the ball. Pitchers are not even required to bat - the overwhelming majority of pitchers do not go up to bat. Batters spend their time perfecting hitting the ball. It is incredibly difficult to be good at just one of these crafts: batting or pitching. Shohei is phenomenal at BOTH batting and pitching. That is extremely rare and basically unheard of! Especially with how successful Shohei is at each.
