The characters are based on the drawings that he created for a comic strip that then became The Simpsons. I think they just continued with that style for Futurama which he produced. He didn't write the jokes or storylines for either of them though, as far as I'm aware.

I just recently watched a Simpson episode where Lisa says “apparently we are the show that predicts the future” 😂

Plunge our world into chaos is their goal to take full control and Americans are in the way of their new world order goal so we will be taken out. There's a video of Bush in an elementary classroom right before the attack and the teacher was making the whole class repeat words like plane, crash (sth like that) after her, very spooky

I swear the writers of the Simpsons must've stumbled upon every big scandal, conspiracy, and corrupt cabal by accident, got bribed/threatened to keep quiet about it, but couldn't help themselves and wrote it into their stories to try to warn people about what they couldn't tell us explicitly.

The one that kind of got me a bit more was the 1919 comic with the cell phone, since the telephone had only been invented in 1876, so them predicting that one day we would have actual mobile phones is pretty cool! But the one with Lisa predicting football game winners was also pretty amazing!

So not really remarkable, there was a 50:50 chance of being right with the outcome each game at pure chance. If there was anything that could tilt the chance, then the writers had a greater than 50% chance of being right. Each game was an independent event, so the fact that it was 4 years in a row doesn't change the greaterthan 50% correct outcome each year. To put it another way: if a coin is flipped 100 times, there is a 20% that a coin will land the same way four times in a row.

None of the "predictions" in The Simpsons were really that far of a stretch; none are particularly mind-blowing. Some of them you could see coming a mile away. The writers and producers didn't need some SPECIAL knowledge, just a keen knowledge of domestic and world affairs, both past and present - in politics, sports and pop culture, and which way the wind is blowing and the weather that is likely in our future. Basically, if you pay close enough attention to what's happening in the world, and know enough about what happened in the past, you don't need some strange kind of 'special' knowledge.

No. they are reading news papers. probably from other countries than only usa. Also they make 10x more predictions that have not been realized.

Our government knew weeks ahead of the possibility of an attack by the Japanese. The buildup of ships and personnel weeks prior to the actual event. Why would a foreign government build up arsenals if they didn't plan to use it.

There was also one right before D-Day in which the answers in a crossword all pertained to code words involving the surprise attack. After questioning and investigating the compiler and finding no evidence of espionage or precognition on his part, they dismissed it as a coincidence.

There were always people trying to bribe Fifa refs, so you can't say that the simson predicted it.

Payment to the writers to write stuff that might promote their future endeavors and gain public support and bring about a certain future, is also a possibility.. say like a big check to support future innovations in solar engineering and an episode about blocking the sun. We can all joke about an idea we all saw 30 years ago on a comic show, would we joke about such an idea or see it as more threatening, if none of us had seen it? As the video points out, comics have always been part of gov propaganda machines.

The French graphic novel Asterix and the Chariot Race (2017) had a character called Coronavirus!

These are solid recorded facts. I'M surprised there isn't a official documentary on this.

speaking on the Covid thing. there was one show that did accurately predict the outbreak, sorta, but not as severe and global as it was in 2020. back in 2003, in Season 14 episode 3, there was a episode of Law and Order titled "Patient Zero" where a woman was shot dead from a carjacking and the woman was carrying a container in the back of her vehicle which held the SARS Covid virus. and 13 people were infected with 1 dying

I lived in France in the 90s and some of the beef burgers had a certain percentage of horse meat in them but it was stated on the packaging so we knew. They tasted fine, had onions, mustard powder and spices added and called steak hache

Family Guy: 1) they predicted/foreshadowed Bruce Jenner turning into Caitlyn. 2) 2005 episode where Stewie is running naked through a mall, shouting he'd escaped from Kevin Spacey's basement. Spacey was later accused in real life of sexual misconduct.

If you have a phone or any smart device or even if you simply walk out in public (cuz you know, there are cameras absolutely everywhere) you are definitely being watched! From security organizations, your internet provider, and even your bank give information to the government.

21:22 Actually there was talk of Trump running for President way back in the 90s. Diamond Dan Rather was on TV doing a show about him and gushed something like "Gee, Mr. Trump, you sure are rich." So the idea that he could essentially buy the Presidency was not a new idea. I think it was floated even before the 60 Minutes piece that I just found from January 2000.

Plus he ran in 2008 and 2012 only to drop out early because of disinterest or scandals (2012 was because of the Teen Miss USA debacle leading to his infamous sound bite. You know the one). So depending on when the episode aired, he already had his sights set on the Presidency and it wasn't a stretch that he would keep running until he got in.

Dear lord... it was today years ago that I discovered that Grandpa Simpson's name was friggin ABRAHAM! That scene with Bart looking at his tombstone legitimately confused me until I found out that was their grandfather's name. Lol!

We all gotta admit toys R us shouting down was the worst things that could happen to kids ☹

No one but me remembers when Jack in the Box got busted for using kangaroo meat in the late '70's or early 80's. I forgot which, but it did happen.

No time machine needed. They're simply telling us what they plan to do.

There was a restaurant in Paris I believe called Le Entrico or something and the rumor was always that it was Horse Brisket… but dang it was amazing.

Regarding Marge's censorship of the cartoon Itchy and Scratchy Show, we can even say that, in a way, it also predicted the "censorship" that Tom and Jerry suffered more recently. Where most parents know that their children are too stupid to understand that they are just watching a cartoon, and that is why they demanded the removal of animation from most, if not all, programming schedules.

In Lisa’s Wedding the flashback took place in the year 2010, sure the construction had begun on The Shard in 2009 but it wasn’t completed until 2012 so if that was accurate and pointed out the future then it would be under construction and not fully built.

Glad to finally see a KZread video about The Simpsons "predictions" that did not attribute the Smart watch to the them.

I lived in Europe, lot of people over there ate it, it was in the stores. I had it a few times, seemed pretty good.

There's no telling what we're eating on the daily!! I'm inclined to believe they're poisoning us off. For sure, with all the additives, meds, growth hormones, etc. We should ALL be growing our own food!!

I got a prediction. Buildings everywhere in 2100 will have flying car landing pads since there will be few available parking spots on the street and quite a bit of flying cars. Mr. X

As for the cell phone prediction. Tesla at the time of the comic was talking about wireless communication... Which the comic was based on...

The Simpsons (an Futarama) writers are always just very observant current with news, and there are hundreds of episodes to choose from. Now do stuff they got wrong.

The only one I find as weird predictions that were correct is: how do you explain the superbowl predictions they didn’t wake up and say Lisa predicted it so we choose to win LOL

Apparently the winner of the Superbowl is already rigged, like the winner of our presidential election is pre determined. Four in a row isn't that shocking if the game is rigged.
