Thanks Tim, I’m just looking at changing my farm over to meat sheep and this just might be the way to go. We’ve had a problem with the wild dogs around here for the last few years and it put us off going into sheep. Good job mate .

I series , awesome , got a i2800 , not much more expensive than smaller units, around 125 acres , with a hot wire wrapped around the top barb , thanks to skippy . 65amps and still 6000volts . Usually 15amp and 8000 volts 👍👍👍

Mate, please be careful. Electrifying barb wire or running an electrified wire within 30cm of barb wire is completely illegal in all cases. See AS/NZS 60335.2.76:2003 Amendment 2 If a human being were entangled and killed in the fence you would end up in prison. If a complaint were made, you could face heavy fines for animal cruelty. It also makes no sense. An electrified wire will have the same effect without trapping and killing animals that requires a cleanup and repair.

I didn’t make that real clear . My electric wire is on 30 cm offsets inside the paddock. And a kangaroo jumping the fence dragged the wire over the fence and it wrapped around the top barb wire of the main fence. This shorted the wire . But unit was still good enough to deliver 6000 volts at 65amps and showed a fault on unit display 👍👍👍

Is the premise here you can have a fairly decent normal height exclusion fence with smart/beefed up electric technology? No need to go 6 foot high?

It needs to be higher than 1200mm. About 1400mm. The secret is power down low. Most roos go under fences. You use normal steel posts. More line wires.

I Know Gallagher are certainly in the US. It could be worth asking your local Gallagher Territory Manager.

What about access through for native animals, eg wombats, koalas, etc?
