Yep. That was Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan with the charismatic Ricardo Montalban. Mr. Roarke from Fantasy Island himself. "I never forget a face...Mr...Chekov... isn't it...?". 😅😂

Thanks Roy - you always come up with the goods as does Kev, below you. I remember Wrath of Khan - I should put it down on the reaction list - it is a long long time since I have seen that. I hope all is well with you?

Yes this is cheesy fun. Definitely some plot holes and logic gaps but since Buck Rogers isn't what you could call a thought provoking show, I easily ignore the faults. I've always found this story very entertaining. This is one of those that I remember the best. Still it could have been a better story with some tweaking. But Buck Rogers never pretends to be more than some fun escapism and popcorn fodder. Yes, Star Trek II did indeed use the same idea of one person(Spock) sacrificing themselves to save the rest of them.

Hey Kev, how are things mate? I think the issue with the plot holes was common back then due to the pressure on script writers just to spit them out. I can forgive almost all of them except for the Empath lady not being an Empath when it mattered - that to me was too obvious to miss but cest la vie. But in fairness as you said, there was plenty of entertainment and comedy and as one of my commenters on Odysee said, it felt like a porn movie was about to break out any minute and so true. Interestingly these videos do much better over there then here in terms of views even though it is a much smaller platform. Thanks for confirming the Spock thing for me.
