This is the for real life rugged side, which I like more than the comfortable tourist side. It is such a joy to see the children playing, smiling, laughing, content with where they are and what they have. Seeing a child sweeping the front entrance to their home, so many children outside playing, people sitting outside, walking outside without fear is such a good thing to see. Real human social interaction, that happens when there is not an over abundance of access to electronic devices found in other parts of the world leading to social isolation. Even as the the sun sets and the evening approaches, people are still out and about. Like the Stylistics sing "People Make The World Go Round". That sandwich was mouth watering!

There were many interesting sights and sounds on this walking tour. I saw the egg vendor, with stacks of eggs, as you walked by. Each of the vendors with their many products. I didn’t find the 2 1/2 link at the end. Perhaps you can put on the Members videos for this channel. Thank you for sharing your work, TE

Thank you for this video. I spent a few days in Saint-Louis a while back, and I was struck by these fishing boats adorned with Nazi flags (clearly visible between 4'15 and 4'40). How do you explain that? The people I asked about it gave me very evasive answers: "they don't know what it means", "for them it's just a decoration", and so on. I find it hard to imagine that the 2nd World War didn't make it this far, especially when you think of the Thiaroye massacre, which gets a lot of press coverage in France these days (edit: and now I see the monument to the tirailleurs sénégalais, so...). In short, I raise my eyebrow and scratch my head...

Hey Ludo, one country that no one seems to think about is GABON! I always wondered why... everyone forgets about that small French colony country, and I strongly believe that if anyone can take us there, it will definitely be Ludo, so please take us there with you. You do such a good job with the natives and neighborhoods when you travel, instead of fancy fancy places like a typical tourist. Let's go to Gabon please!!!

Wait Ludo, if u are in Senegal, how is it possible that no one is speaking FRENCH in that area of fishing?? That's strange! At least u were able to get people to speak English with u when u were in Elmina/Cape Coast in the fishing villages. Is it because they didn't go to school, that's why they don't speak French? Because in Ghana, people don't speak English, only because they didn't go to school.
