He made a lot of valid points. KSA was obviously good to him initially but they fell out. And Alhaji Timmy seized on the opportunities when things were good between them. But that can't be said about the other band leaders.

Another great interview from deeply appreciative and spiritual Haji Timmy. As a good adage says, "where you sit, not only indicate where you stand; but also what you see". The ironic thing is that for all the love and support that Haji Timmy gave to KSA (respect to him for that show of gratitude and humility), he also inadvertently confirmed and ratified all of the dissatisfaction expressed by other former members of the band against KSA. I.e. 1. KSA ran a divide and rule regime. 2. He himself left the band for those types of reasons. 3. KSA didn't pay all his band partners all that was due to them - he cheated them. 4. Had band leaders treated band members fairly, many of them won't have left their bands to stay back in the USA, London etc. Other things that are clear, are that Haji Timmy's experience differ in many ways to those of the likes of Olojede, Oni, Owomoyela, Aladokun etc partly because he had (and still have) great entreprenuerial spirit and deep native intelligence, which they didn't have and which gave him different sets of advantages; despite not achieving all he has achieved directly through working in the band. And that he wasn't party to what those other men experienced between 1984 and 2007 and he had already left the band by them. It'll therefore be 100% wrong for anyone to conclude that Haji Timmy's position should be applied to all those others; even though they themselves were partly at fault for not following the foot steps that the likes of Haji Timmy, Bob Aladeniyi and latterly Aladokun took. I'll also add that Rasaki Aladokun did NOT berated KSA. He holds KSA in self esteem and he acknowledged KSA's contributions to his life.

what do you think KSA could have done differently? The African beats, 80's circa was the biggest and arguably the best band in Africa. How KSA SURVIVED that band should be studied in the University. You will agree with me that not everyone will like the band leader in a band as big as the African Beats. This fact was attested to by Alhaji Tiamiyu himself. Alhaji said the Band members are treacherous and diabolical at times. However sir, you are entitled to your opinion only in your head. but when you choose to spit it out on a thread such as this or in public, it then becomes your responsibility to ground them in logic and facts, explain your reasoning to others and change them when better evidence emerges. If this Alhaji Tiamiyu's interview and so many other African Beats members who poured adulations on their former boss can't convince you about the intrigues of managing a big band, such as the African Beats, then nothing can. Respectfully sir, I noticed you have been around contributing to this discuss, but in reality lets stop playing the ostrich in this band leader and disgruntled band members saga. Even in our private lives, some people like us and some just dont give a damn! It is an axiom in life that you treat people nice dont mean they would reciprocate. KSA did not cheat anybody. Recall, non of the band members applied to work in the band, and there was no contractual agreement. but luck smiled on them, they all shared the spoils of international tours under the cusp of no other person than KSA. Now that some of them have fallen on hard times, by their inability to plan for the future, KSA has now become the cause of their poverty. Imagine some members collecting 500$ a week on foreign tour in the eighties, that is MONUMENTAL. Hence, the reason why KSA was a big deal the 80's. The band was envied and was able to attract some of the best musicians into its aggregation. It is a fact that the African beats was paying better than EGYPT 80 BAND. However, Why aren't the other members putting out facts the way Tiamiyu has done. Let them bring out the many foreign tour agreement that is well spelt out regarding each members share. The social media space isn't helping this discuss, because it appears the interviews are sometimes scripted and what you hear are derisive statements about their benefactor in other to gain sympathy and pitting the band leader against the public. They should be asked hard questions about how they spent their share of foreign tours/ special T.V appearances and appearances in films? How are some band members able to survive? build hotels, build private residences and even send their children to school? We should cut KSA some slack. No one is perfect. These are some of the reason why KSA will not dignify these social media threads a response because of these clandestine and unprofessional interviews. putting words into the interviewee's mouth! In TRUTH we should be celebrating KSA and the AFRICAN BEATS for their contribution to putting Nigeria on the world map. But these OLD WIVES TALES leaves much to be desired. My one cent.

This gentleman in his address confirmed the excesses of their Employer after a long period of service with them. It is quite natural to have disagreements, sadly most of which are cause by their colleagues in the Band because of envy. The reminiscence of which is still in vogue.

The idea of all these drummers complaining is rubbish if they have a group and they are not satisfy they can start their own band or give condition of employment before they engage with any musician. Most of these drummers are ingrate how many people in Nigeria who has the opportunity of travelling abroad or got a car from their employer .After listened to Rasaki Oladokun first interview I can see clearly human beings are not grateful whatever you do .

Tiamiyu will receive a lot of gifts for this interview from Sunny fans. Others condemning Sunny are extremely bad. Rasaki who confessed not paying transport fare from ikirun to Lagos has a dubious attitude. Olojede stayed with Sunny for 39 years and didn't see anything good about Sunny Ade. Owomoyela who has patent of selling all Sunny life plays is not grateful. Thousand wire appears to me like a rascal and a drunk. Who among them doesn't have a house. Fatoke is a drug dealer. Please spell out the fault of Sunny in all of these.
