So uh, these are supposed to be hyper intelligent life forms... almost every parasite we encounter in the show does *everything* in it's power to stay hidden from the general public, because they're intelligent to understand simple things like fighting against an entire planet is *STUPID* and will almost guarantee it's death. These things, continually throughout the show PRIORITISE THEIR SURVIVAL OVER EVERYTHING ELSE... What makes them scary isn't just "ooh flesh monster, with knife tentacles" it's the fact that they are scarily capable physically speaking *AND* the fact that they are intelligent enough to learn an entire language in a few hours, among many other things, and if I'm remembering correctly they assimilate some general understanding from their hosts mind when they take them over. Almost every human killed in the show is killed somewhere out of the sight of the general public... (until later in the show) It's clear these (garbage) directors didn't watch the show... (not surprising) Imagine having access to all that money/equipment/actors and having a story already pre-written for you and you still, somehow *FAIL* *E M B A R R A S S I N G* [Edit] Since people are actual mouth-breathers and don't get it. Here's a simple example: Alien Isolation, If you've ever seen/played the game, in said game the player spends a good amount of time hiding from the Xenomorph(s) under desks, in lockers, etc.. If you're a fan of Ridley Scott's work then you would understand that "hiding" from the xenomorphs is quite literally impossible in close quarters. If you notice, *they don't have eyes* ... duh.... they have a highly specialized organ that allows them to pick up electric impulses "similar to a shark's lateral line" AND they have an extremely powerful sense of smell. Mind you that game is awesome, but it misrepresents the very nature of how the Xenomorphs hunt. (for good reason though) The mere concept that literally any of these parasites, which are hyper intelligent, nearly perfect life forms *from the second they hatch* as per the original show/manga dictates, simply "being stupid" goes against the literal nature of their species, they *start* with enough intelligence and instinct to be able to identify proper hosts and have enough intelligence to improvise if their host isn't up to par (like the corgi from the anime) as they understand that they can acquire a new host later or even graft themselves onto another parasite's body. From the literal moment they take over their host they assimilate some/most of their knowledge. Not to mention the one that took over the corgi *WAS SPEAKING* literally proving they are intelligent before they have a host. "bUt tHeY eXpLaInEd iT iN tHe Epi-" Shut. Just shut. "BuT iT tAkEs pLaCe iN a dIfFeReNt CoUnTrY" that wasn't what i was disputing.. "bUt tHiS oNe hAd A dEfEcT" again.. super-organism .. some third-rate writer/director/whoever from netflix doesn't get to just decide "ima just take this work and ad my dumb twist to it." There's literally source material dating back to 1988. Do it right. Imagine watching a show and somehow not realizing or understanding like 50% of it... Or on the other hand imagine having not seen the original yet you wanna defend this garbage netflix version. Nothing else can be explained. If you don't understand, I actually feel bad for you... yikes.
