Sophia you nail it in that traditional attire, you behaved well in the way you walked in that dress. Thanks for the hospitality you showed to Kish. Believe me there are Namibians who do not even know that there is a place called Opuwo💕

Hello Kish, good to watch this informative vldeo. My opinion about african culture, there are some customs as africans we can keep and some we need to drop. We should drop those customs which are especially biased.

Which culture is biased here a herero Marrying a cousin is not biased and it's not an arranged marriage the man will propose to a lady like any men would after being in a relationship

5:02 The meat they are eating was represented by the brides side of the family special piece of cooked meat from the sacred fire (a fire that burns on the brides’ property) to present to the families of the groom as a union like "we are one now" and eish it sounds better in my native language 😅

Oooomg very interesting culture, they can marry in the family. Oooomg, in some culture that’s a taboo. Wooooooooow
there are culture some how to our culture
I have to admit, Herero weddings are the best in Namibia
In South Africa is common, especially in my culture Sepedi, Uncle and Aunt's kids can marry each other.

Only pedi tribe , 'm a south African my cousins are My brothers and sisters
What the lady meaned by the age mates of the groom isn't age mates by age but the men circumcised in the same year, in herero culture men are circumcised while they are babies so when one is getting married those men will be like best men or so
Tswana tribes also
Namibia has different tribes and all tribes have sub tribes just like in other African countries so Hereros is a tribe with sub tribes being Himbas, Hereros and Zembas etc so Himbas and Hereros are same people speaking same language with slight difference in pronouncing the words and the accent is also different
They do the same in Senegal and Gambia they married their cousins .

That’s not a shock, it happens in many Bantu cultures, it’s very common in Kongo and even in Kenya, you’re just a city boy who have lost hold of your cultures and customs.

@@janek6843 you have clearly lost touch of your culture and traditions then, doesn’t surprise me though as Kenyans happens to be some of the most sell out people alongside Ugandans and Tanzanians. If you look deep into your history you’ll know that marriages between cousins were very prevalent, ask your mwami’s if you even have any.

So because it's "culture" it is right? Too much abomination in the name of culture and tradition, hence why kids in these places are being born with all sorts of deformities and illnesses.
