    5:02 The meat they are eating was represented by the brides side of the family special piece of cooked meat from the sacred fire (a fire that burns on the brides’ property) to present to the families of the groom as a union like "we are one now" and eish it sounds better in my native language 😅

    What the lady meaned by the age mates of the groom isn't age mates by age but the men circumcised in the same year, in herero culture men are circumcised while they are babies so when one is getting married those men will be like best men or so

    Namibia has different tribes and all tribes have sub tribes just like in other African countries so Hereros is a tribe with sub tribes being Himbas, Hereros and Zembas etc so Himbas and Hereros are same people speaking same language with slight difference in pronouncing the words and the accent is also different
