Shock Clock! Pavlok Review

Ғылым және технология

Not a sponsored video! This is my review of the Pavlok Clock. Which is different from the Pavlok and Pavlok 2. It's actually the most effective alarm clock I've used but it has some major downsides.
You can find the Pavlok via their website at: pavlok.com/
I keep calling it the "Pavlov" but it's really the "Pavlok". I've just been paying too much virtual-reality...

BTW it's the "PAVLOK" not the "PAVLOV". I've been playing too much VR. Also, I apologize for the bit of skin on my upper lip. Didn't notice it at first and now it bothers the heck out of me.

Thank you so much!! It's just a little easy to get caught up in all the small mistakes when you watch your own stuff over & over while editing, haha. I don't think I'll get my hands on the 2 but I'm thinking I might try some stuff with TENS or EMS units :)

Do I have to connect it every time I want to use it? Or can I set it up and leave it alone?

I have been doing this myself for a little while now, I think it works decently if you have the discipline to commit to the rubber band technique! Often times, even having the band on my wrist is enough to make me not want to partake in any bad habits 👍

I heard reviews that you can actually accidentally press the shock button while sleeping which will shock you - is this the case? The price tag is way too high for what it actually is, I'm thinking about doing something diy with a digispark or an arduino nano(something that's small). If the price would be 30-40€ I would buy it, but the current price + shipping is insane. I'm really bad at getting up in the morning so I'm inteersted in this, but not 130$ interested.

Perhaps but my product here is the "Shock Clock" (same hardware) - I actually don't have the tap to shock feature so it'd actually be impossible for this to happen to me. I'm terribly bad at getting up in the morning, like you. Still, I wouldn't recommend this product for $130 due to the connectivity issues. Maybe the second gen but that costs even more. BTW, I have a product coming up on this channel which involves an Arduino for a small part of it. Make sure to stay tuned if you're interested. :)

How can an alarm clock that you set to wake you up be replaced by a rubber band?? I mean, if it sucks it sucks, but that didn't make a ton of sense. Hehe thanks for the review!

m⳽. jⲇckaloᕈe .ʝ. joᖾnstoŋe Hey, I suggested the rubber band idea for those who want Pavlov device; for creating an association between displeasure & the habit they want to break. I didn't mean it as a replacement for the alarm functionality - I hope that clears things up. And thanks for stopping by! :)

Can you manually shock yourself without using the app or the phone? I drive for a living and my company has a zero (0) tolerance for cellular phones.

$130 for this.. thwts way to steep considering all that you get is a shock collar. And another $40 after that.

Cost makes absolutely zero sense considering what the product does and is made out of. Doubt each unit costs more than $10-15 to make. It's essentially just a dog shock collar with wifi enable. I'd pay $40-50 maximum.
