I think 1999-2007 he was the best fast bowler in the world bar Mo Asif. He won Pakistan many matches. A true rockstar of the game. I remember school being cancelled when they were playing my country so we could go watch Wasim, Waqar, Shoaib, Younis Kahn, Inzi, Mo Yousef, Saqlain, Afridi, Moin, Nazir, Saeed Anwar. That's one of the best teams ever assembled in history!

Good olden days

Despite having Shoaib still they lost both Test and Odi Series in their own soil.

His stats don't do 1% justice to what impact he had on batting line-ups. Shoaib Akhtar (as an Indian) was our biggest nightmare between 1997- 2000 when he first emerged.

by teh end of his carer you could expect him to take at least 2 wickets for at most 25 runs by the end of his 10th over against any side, and if he went wicket less then he statistically he would get 4 fer or a 5 fer in the next game

The same man hit shoiab out of the park many times but that doesn't make shoaib any lesser bowler than the legend that he was. Both were fierce competitors so some days sachin won and some days shoaib. Honestly as an Indian fan shoaib didn't scare us as much after 2003. Mohammed Asif replaced him as the main threat.
