Same here. I started Martial Arts 30 years ago. I was obsessed with Ninja movies, especially Revenge of the Ninja, but watching Van Damm in Bloodsport sealed the deal for me. I started Goju Ryu Karate shortly after and I'm a 4th Dan.

Sho Kosugi the GREATEST OF ALL TIME in Ninjitsu movies.

I met Sho Kosugi once briefly and he was such a polite and humble man. And he was built like an MMA fighter. Seriously, he looked like he could've punched through an engine block!

Kosugi's screen presence in Ninja Assassin is what made that movie. His performance outshined everyone else.

This guy defined the 80's for me.

Sho Kosugi is a great inspiration. Much respect to him.

Dude is a legend

All his fighting was fine but what really stuck in peoples memories (and mine) were his eyes. Those were eyes of a Ninja.

I remember video game box art had masked Ninjas looking like Sho when I was a kid. Commodore 64 stuff.

I kept trying to watch Sho Kosugi movies as a kid, but every time I'd put the cassettes in the VCR. The VCR would explode from the sheer awesomeness !

i was a big ninja fan in the 80s. He was my hero .....i got to meet him and his sons kane and shane and he has a daughter sho kosugi had a marshal arts store in pasadena california and when i was there he and his kids came in and i got his autograph and got to hang out with him he was so cool.I still have the autograph today. thank you sho kosugi......

I was 14 back then I saw Revenge of the Ninja first then afterwards I saw Ninja III The Domination and Prey for Death, best 3 martial art movies of the 80s while most other so-called ninja movies (like Enter the Ninja) were a bit rubbish.

I am a huge fan of Sho Kosugi, I used to play ninja all of the time as a kid and started taking Karate because of this man. He is and will always be one of my favorite actors. Thanks for posting this interview.

Sho's name shall forever be synonymous with the word Ninja. Thank you for all the amazing Films and TV shows Mr. Kosugi.

Because of Master Kosugi, i loved all his movies and got into Ninjutsu training, bought a ninja suit and learned to use the Ninjato sword and nunchakus and shuriken. I can't say everything that i learned because its prohibited but i learned to be swift and silent. I will always have Master Kosugi in my heart because he was a big influence in my life growing up in the 80s. Thank you Sho Kosugi.

I grew up watching sho kosugi at the height of his popularity in the 1980's.. he revolutionized the ninja craze in the 80's..big fan here always have always will.

I grew up on Sho's movies! He inspired my love for ninjutsu and ninjas. Love him. He's a sweetheart!

Pray for death was my all time favorite. One of the reasons why I joined karate

I remember wanting to be a ninja after watching Sho in his movies. And when he was going to be in Ninja Assassin I was like gotta watch it still one of my fav Martial Art action stars

I have Ninja Assasins in BluRay and recite the parts Sho Kosugi says/acts. He played the Ozunu Clan Master so well. Just as i expected him to. He is still the Boss.

This video is a priceless treasure! I remember "Revenge of the Ninja" and "Ninja 3: The Domination" Lucinda Dickey, Hot!! As the aerobics instructor!! It's good to see Sho Kosugi again after so many years still practicing with his sons this "forgotten art/path" of the Ninja! Thank you for uploading this! This goes in my favorites!!

AMAZING!!! I remember being 8 years old and first seeing Revenge of the ninja in a video store, I somehow convinced my father to rent it for me! Sho Kosugi has been such a major part of all our lives... I count myself lucky to have actually been able to go to his martial arts supply store as a child in the 80's! Thanks so much Sho! The 80's would not have been the same without you!!!

Another great man who shows that nothing in the world is given. You work hard for your dream. Even with the pressures of family he worked two jobs until his hard work paid off. Definitely someone who can teach millennials a thing or two.

Sho was my introduction to ninja movies which lead to martial arts training in the 80s. Still hold most of his films in high regard.

I loved watching sho and tadishi yamashita when I was in my teens. Then learned karate and freestyle. What a guy so underrated. 👏

Revenge of the Ninja is always my favorite. I broke several VCR tapes from watching his films over and over. True legend.

Love this guy from my youth. While Bruce may be best, Sho was there to pick up where Bruce left off. Good that we had him in the 80's since Bruce wasn't around anymore.

Sho was one of the original 80's badass action heroes. I grew up watching him along with Arnold and Sly.

I knew Sho in Black Eagle (Van Damme) but I didn't know him as a kid! I just saw the Movie for first time in 2013 and I also saw him in Blind Fury(Rutger Hauer who's just died two weeks ago) I saw many of his movies playing Ninjas!Great Martial Artist!

My first movie was Revenge of the Ninja and just so you know even though you played the bad guy in some of your movies your the only reason I went to watch them. I hated it when you got killed in some of them. It filled me with sadness to see that. But i learned it was just movie. Was obsessed with his movies in the 1980s. Watched Revenge of the Ninja so many times.

i remember when I was a kid when revenge or ninja 3 came on we would stop playing out side or what ever it was we doing we were glued to the TV.

Master sho is the main reason I learned mixed material arts. He has always been my hero

I have always admired Sensi Kosugi struggles and success in Hollywood. His sons are an amazing reflection of their father.

I never did study martial arts (music was my passion) but I LOVED his movies growing up. I probably watched Revenge Of The Ninja 100 times and I still watch it whenever I can.
