Shnootz - Reaction Video (The Smiths - Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now)

Hey, people! I'm back with another Smiths reaction for a non-album track from the period of their self-titled debut album (1984), and this time we listen to a song I remembered by name (as I think I've explained, I heard a handful of Smiths tunes about 20 years ago), though the song itself didn't really come back as I was listening. Either way, this one feels like pure Morrissey in the lyrics and characteristic Smiths in the sonics, so join me for a good one from The Smiths. Cheers!
Also I run a Patreon featuring extra content of different types, so anyone interested in supporting what we do here on KZread and getting early-access to video-watchalongs and reactions blocked on KZread, as well as behind-the-scenes videos, video-reactions, and blooper-reels from my videos, can go here: / shnootz

Cats and The Smiths - perfect combination "Why do I smile at people who I'd much rather kick in the eye" is one my favourite Moz phrases XD

This is one of my all-time favourite tunes by The Smiths. Classic Moz' lyrics, of course. And that jangly guitar by Marr is just so delicious. The title was inspired by the song "Heaven Knows I’m Missing Him Now" by Sandie Shaw, who is an idol of The Smiths, and who recorded cover versions of "Hand in Glove" and "I Don't Owe You Anything" with the band. Keep up the great work!

I’m a historian, I certainly know who Caligula was, I just didn’t hear that word clearly.

Classic Smiths track. The title is great, and kind of where the Pet Shop Boys leaned towards in using a phrase as a song title. Neil Tennant said PSB were "The Smiths you can dance to", and it's this use of everyday hum-drum phrases that is a prime example. Fantastic song by the way, Marr and Morrissey in perfect synogy

This sounded vaguely familiar to me, too, but I can't be sure if I heard it before. Like with many other bands, I always thought many of their songs sounded too much like the same. Not "Big Mouth Strikes Again", of course! That one is great, a classic! But this was interesting, and funny. 😉

Haha, yes, "Moz"/Morrissey is so delightfully glum in most of their songs. 😆
