One of my all time favorites. The first time I cried listening to a song it was with this one when they played it live in 1995 in Buenos Aires.

This is the song that convinced me to follow Roxette's career - Impossible to even TRY to sing along with Marie on this one. She just has this pitch no one can reach on this song. It was supposed to be in my favourite comedy movie, Hocus Pocus - so they changed the song title from "Sweet Emotions" to "Almost Unreal" and replaced "sweet emotions" with "hocus pocus" to fit with the movie - but the song ended up instead in the flop movie "Super Mario Bros." You should really watch the video - Marie never looked more beautiful - plus - she was pregnant on the video. I never get tired of this song.

This was written for the Bette Midler movie 'Hocus Pocus' but En Vogue were chosen to sing the main song. So it ended up on the 'Super Mario Bros' soundtrack. Lucca has perfect timing at 3:30, while Marie is singing 'You give me that look...' 😺

Now this is a classic Roxette track that I absolutely love from start to finish! I didn’t really care about the CBB album, but this is pure nostalgia.

If you ever review the MV for this video you will note that Marie only has headshots in it as it was filmed a day before she went into labour with her first child her daughter Josefin.

Like many have mentioned, the hocus pocus part is there because the song was supposed to be in a movie called Hocus Pocus. This song was originally called Sweet Emotions. A #7 hit over here. Almost Unreal was the last time Roxette made the top ten in Britain with a new song. (It Must Have Been Love was reissued later the same year to coincide with the network television premiere of Pretty Woman and got to #10.)

As has been mentioned it should have been in Hocus Pocus but, instead, ended up in Super Mario 🫤. The official video features an actor well known to us Brits. Every time I see it I still think, -'haha, it's Tony from Hollyoaks!' Very recognisable Jonas Isacsson sound on the guitar solo. 😊

Isn't that the song Per later said about it sounded like a parody of Roxette? I only remember the movie was a complete flop which affected the success of this song. I like it anyway.

I will provide a bit more engagement here, and make a wish, that Roxette could be a bit more frequent on the channel. I understand the realities, and I'm aware I'm biased as all hell, but Have A Nice Day is a great album and you're about to get to experience it. It's a bit of a mix and match of styles and isn't very consistent as an entity, but it has a ton of great songs on it, including the extras. I could of course try to drop reminders, if it's just a memory issue, but in general I'm anti-nagging, so I'd prefer not to do it. I think it was almost 5 weeks since the last Roxette reaction this time.

Don't hesitate to drop those reminders, it actually does help. At the very least, I'd like to get back closer to a fortnightly schedule with Roxette. Anyway, Marie should come back around in the not-too-distant future.

Is it Have A Nice Day or the compilation Don't Bore Us Get To The Chorus? It's important, as there are great original songs worth hearing on that compilation! And their B-sides.. June Afternoon I don't really care about that much though. But that's probably because of that damn clown on the video...
