Gravelly, gritty…almost hoarse Morten in 1994 shortly before their long break or hiatus as they prefer to refer to it. It’s a grungy, rocky…dark and dangerous version, with Pal’s guitars almost sounding like they’re crying out in pain at his rough handling…its very different treatment from their earlier live performances there is much more emotion coming through. I don’t think they played it this way ever again, after they got back in 2000 they have included this song at most concerts and it’s always great…sometimes slower and less rocky, they’ve even done an acoustic version, but I think this one is the most intense and emotionally invested version, and of course I love it! ❤️

I'm back on the a-ha reactions after a while away. Yeah, now this is a great version. Seems like it was a strange period for the band as they were playing energetic, "dirty" pop music in front of dwindling crowds with their own reduced levels of cohesion. Paul was just having a blast on the guitar and it seems he fully embraced this alternative rock direction that neither Magne or Morten were fully engaged with. Two years later Savoy made their debut with what could have been the sixth a-ha record.

I've Been Losing You is another of my top favourites, and this rocking performance is awesome. A great start of the concert, but the best is yet to come. 😉 The track stops a bit abruptly because it goes immediately into Cry Wolf without pausing, it's a cool transition that you weren't able to appreciate. 🙃 Sentrum Scene is a rather small venue in Oslo. I have been there in 2012 and 2014 to see Morten's solo concerts. 😊 Lucca being cute at 1:28? 😀 She can't miss an a-ha reaction, even if we don't see her. 😸

Just saying that this could have been lethal if I was outside and not in air conditioning. 🤷🏻‍♀️😅😅Wow wow wow wow whew whew whew whew❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 Man. I was pacing, fanning myself, repeating things like “Oh my bleeping God! They are soooo hot! Whew! Oh my God! Whew! Whew!” 😅😅 I am cat sitting. The one cat was sleeping, but during this, his eyes were slit open a bit and he was watching me pace and looking at me like I was crazy, I swear 😂😂 If I would have been at this concert, I am sure my body would have internally combusted. That should pretty well explain how I feel about this version, no? ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥🤣🤣 Man…Pål’s so gosh durn (you know what I mean) hot with shredding that guitar!🎸❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥The drums…wow wow wow 🤩🤩❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 Morten’s voice? I totally agree. I am sure you were killing it, my adorable teddy bear with the stunning blue eyes, but everything else was drowning it out and taking over. It was amazing, but would have been even that more amazing if you had a little time to show your stuff. 💖💖) but this is truly a killer version. Okay, if I was there, I would have internally combusted and my ashes would have melted to a puddle. There I think that sums it up.

Well, I guess I am crazy for THIS is my favorite time from them. To me, it doesn’t feel like Grunge at all and interesting, for I was just talking to a fan from Russia on the “Move to Memphis” video and she said that sounded “Grunge”. I am American and this sound above is very Rock, closely to Vintage rock to me. It sounds very similar to a lot of the Bridges stuff and for that reason, this sounds very organic to me. With Memorial Beach, that was very R&B (Rhythm and Blues) to me. Morten was in a Blues band before a-ha, so that also sounds very organic to me. Grunge is stuff that came out of Seattle and groups like Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Sound Garden, etc etc . To me, little to none of a-ha’s stuff sounds like that. Especially above, this is true rock to me. I could definitely see a bunch of Savoy’s own stuff sounding Grunge though. I was so in love with this sound they had above as well as the Memorial Beach flavor. I am not a huge fan of Grunge. I like some stuff here and there, but not a lot. I am soo extremely happy they had this stuff and did also some songs similar on MEMS,Lifelines, and even some on Analogue. See, I am in reverse of you, the Synthy softer stuff is just okay to me. It’s so cool though how they got to experiment and reach many people this way with all their different sounds. I might not be in love with all of it, but I think it’s totally awesome that there are people who are completely in love with a style I am not and it makes them as happy as the style I am in love with. ❤❤

@@pedrogappalli4489 Shoot, I read what you wrote wrong. I am sorry, I thought you said they were Grunge. I took that part out of my comment. For the rest though, I will have to agree to disagree with you here. Morten doesn’t look “dirty” to me, he looks cool. This is my favorite time from him.Their looks were more hard/vintage rock. Trust me on this, especially Morten. (Look up Axel Rose for a great example with the bandannas, fancy cowboy ish kinda boots, and jeans)😉 Well, sometimes Morten looked like a skinny Fabio instead of a rocker, but I digress. 😂(If you meant “dirty” as in made to look like a sex object at times, I can agree with that too. That’s why I do the “Fabio” joke 😂. If you meant “Dirty” like his appearance was unkempt, I do disagree. Sorry if that was lost in translation) I didn’t mean to offend, I am just being honest. I am not putting down their 80’s style or any Synth and softer stuff, it’s just not my thing and that’s okay. It’s my opinion, not a fact. Just like it’s your opinion that you don’t care for this sound and think it’s not great. That’s okay too. Many people like this style from a-ha, many people prefer another style. None of that is wrong, it’s just an opinion. Many like Morten looking like a clean cut GQ model, many like Morten looking like a cool rock star with the long hair. Some may even fantasize that Morten tells everyone to stick it where the sun doesn’t shine and shave his head, grow a goatee or a beard, and dress like a rocker again. (Probably just me, but..😅) Again, all opinions, not facts. I think it’s cool to celebrate that they did so many sounds and made so many people happy. ✌🏽✌🏽 I don’t feel like the record company “forced” them to sound like this. I think they liked to experiment and wanted to try to go back to their roots a bit. Their roots before a-ha. They were actually rebelling the record company for the company wanted more of the same old sound and wanted to concentrate on their looks. Magne’s lyrics for “Lamb to the Slaughter” from MB pretty much says it all there. They ALWAYS experimented and have had different sounds through their career as a band and their solo careers. They didn’t always have the same sound, ever. Even with the later stuff, some might be similar to the 80’s stuff, but it had a twist to make it sound a little different. That’s just who they are.🤷🏻‍♀️

@@shelld1261 Sim! "Desleixo" parece a melhor tradução.
