30 cents is a slammin' Dollar per Slap ratio, brother!

I think Greasefang with Parhelion II and Golden Argosy are fun includes. Greasefang can bring back the vehicles with haste at the beginning of combat, Parhelion makes angels on attack and Argosy can flicker your whole board if you just crew it with everything. And before the vehicles would return to your hand Shilgengar can sac them while they are creatures. Also Malakir Blood Witch and Gary can end games on the spot with one big mass revival

I immediately made an angel deck with this metal Lord. I love the idea of a demon making angels into vampires.

I went pretty heavily in the flicker route, so i have mace of the valiant. I have cards like meticulous excavation and essence reliquary to help return permanents to my hand too. Because i have the etb triggers and ways to return to hand, i have one ring and archaeomancers map. I have legion of loyalty to give my creatures myriad. Dictate of erebos and grave pact to force other to sacrifice when i do. Angel of suffering to negate damage and ulamog to stop myself from milling out. Maskwood nexus and conspiracy to make my other creatures angels.

I've had a Giada deck for a now and was about to take it apart until Shilgengar got spoiled. It's been a meme for a while that I can never get out both Gisela and Bruna to make Brisela, but with things like Emtomb, Oric Loremage, and Buried Alive, I can finally do that. And they get the added bonus of removing the finality counters when they fuse.

Have you ever built a house with a 30 cent foundation? Well, now you can thanks to Nicky G and this elder demon. This guy is actually the next evolution of Gengar. Shilgengar. Lol. Loving it. Definitely a fun looking build. I think the blood tokens are underrated as they help you fill your bin and get through your deck quicker than clues. If you're playing decent recursion, this is no problem.

Just picked him up yesterday to go into my Firja deck, absolutely stoked how well he fits!

Duude, blight mound does wonders in this deck if you care about life gain. Each time a non-token of yours dies you get to make a 1/1 green black pest creature token that gives you 1 life when it dies! That basically doubles up your sac triggers giving you two blood tokens for each non angel you sac as well as one life!

One deck tech that a buddy of mine found for this guy, Solemnity. 3 mana (two generic and a white) for an enchantment that prevents counters from going onto artifacts, creatures, players, or lands. It prevents the finality counters from going on creatures, and also punishes all the +1/+1 counter strategies

This is the deck I originally tried to make with Firja. Didn't work, but she's now my favourite control/spellslinger commander. Chillgenchad coming in hot to take my new deck slot.

Protection means it cant' be: Damaged by sources with the specified quality. (All such damage is prevented.) Enchanted, equipped, or fortified by permanents with the specified quality. Blocked by creatures with the specified quality. Targeted by spells with the specified quality, or by abilities from sources of that quality. Shilgengar's ability does not target.

Not surprised this is a 30 cent card, not because it's not powerful but just because it's just another commander and it's not as easily broken as Nadu. It's another riff on black-white angels, which just is usper niche. Very cool, but there's no way he's going to see play in modern, he MAY make the cut in some existing angel decks in the 99 but mostly, some people will get that one copy to maybe make a commander... or not. And honestly, it's not immediately obvious what you're even supposed to do here. You're making a ton of blood tokens. Cool I guess? The blood tokens feed into reanimate and madness strategies, but also artifact synnergies (Cranial Plating if you're just amassing artifact tokens, then swing for commander lethal with your Shilengar) but you kind of need to play a bunch of angels, because saccing creatures for just one blood token aint it.

There are a lot of great ETB effects you can stack on angels. Stuff your deck full of those Angles + cards that let you search your library and add to graveyard and pull off the juiciest mass res ever!

@@Luke_wp yeah, that sounds cool. This could make for a fun and strong commander deck and I'm pretty sure I'll build around him soon. I think I came off too negative, which I'm actually not. (though my argumentation about the low price making sense still stands) He's a very cool commander because it's not immediately super obvious (at least to me) how to build the deck and it's nice if the deck doesn't build itself, but also he's a bit under the radar currently.
