For those who don't know, the lead singer and guitarist in the video is Inbal Perlmuter. She was killed in a car accident on October 1, 1997 at the age of 26. The band is better known by their Hebrew name, HaMechashefot. Inbal Perlmuter sounds better in Hebrew but if you can get past the accent she was a very talented singer. Yes, this is real. Nick Cave recorded it with the band in 1995 and it appears on The Witches' third album "The Witches Cover Up". It's also on "The Best of The Witches".

the red hair one is a girl, her name is Inbal parlmonter and she was the soloist of a very famous band in Isreal who calles 'the witches' she lived between the years 1971-1997

The Witches ... wow. I've never heard of this band. Awesome cover of this song. I love the sonics and the singing. Very very cool!

Inabl was such an incredible writer, musician and soloist. I heard all the version of Shivers, and i think this is the best one. She could have a great future if she hadnt died in that tragic accident just after she became clean. ענבל פרלמוטר היא כישרון אדיר, ואם הייתה חיה, אז כנראה שהייתה גם בשלה לקריירה בינלאומית. כותבת, מחזאית, מוסיקאית. אני לא מבין מדוע לא מפרסמים את כל היצירות שהשאירה מאחור. מצטער שלא ראית אותה בהופעה. אבל שמעתי אותה כבר בנייטינז. ופעם אחת אני זוכר נסיעה עם אלונה דניאל שהייתה חברה שלה, וכל הלילה נשמתי את סיפורי הפיות שלה. איזה כישרון מדהים. מבצעת עם קייב את השיר של מסיבת היומולדת הלהקה האוסטרלית שלו עם רולנד, שכתב את השיר בגיל 16 אבל עושה זאת יותר טוב מהמקור.

This video says The Witches with Nick Cave in "1995"...it's overwhelming and cool to hear nick sing this song at age 38...when he first sang it when he was 21. I never thought he'd ever sing this song again. Awesome cover by the way.

They are (were) from Israel. The lead singer Inbal Perlmutter was killed in a car crash sometime in the late 90's. I think she was on the way to perform that night.

And she's pretty handy with the axe too ;)

The Boys Next door (who later became The Birthday Party) did not cover it - Rowland S. Howard was their lead guitar player. The Witches, by the way, are from Israel.
