Everything has gone to shit, I can't live, I can't eat, I can't breathe without pissing someone off so badly that they have to think children being kidnapped, being killed or being forced to be something they're not is okay.

I had a lockdown, an actual shooting, and a dead body found by Elementary students all in the span of 3 weeks this year, I can’t remember if the body was a suicide or a murder. the lockdown was fake and someone was just fucking around and making loud noises. The shooting happened at night and I just remembered feeling numb and apathetic. That was just a shitty month now that i think too much about it. It was just a shitty year

One of my favorite songs by Penelope now tbh, almost made me cry :’)

I live just a town away from the place in Serbia where the school shooting happened in May. I know a few people from the school, and it worried me because they weren't replying to messages. Luckily, all of them are fine, but they will be scarred forever. Feeling awfully sorry for the families and friends, and I hope all the people reading this stay strong☺

This is a ballad about dylan roof and others like him. There's bits about being poor and unable to afford treatment but the main focus is how mass shooters take the anger and frustration they feel in regards to that out on innocents who have no power to fix larger systematic issues. It also touches briefly on how some shooters aren't even mad for valid reasons and just mad that poor disenfranchised (actual minorities) groups are allowed to exist near them. Hell, the parts about how the subject(s) of the song both punch and kick down are about as blatant as you can get to calling shooters (who pretty much always kill themselfs after killing however many innocents) bigots without being exclipt about it. The bits about poverty feel like they are meant to highlight how much Penelope despises the ideology that causes shootings to happen as often as they do, shaming the shooters for making everything worse essentially then offing themselves to get out of it scot free by comparing the things she'd be willing to kill herself to achieve-i.e "I'd do it for something great; I'd do it to help people; Id do it to save"

@@chilljelloton2089 could just be me, but as someone who had been both IN a school shooting and has had intrusive thoughts in a bad point in my life, it feels weirdly targeted. I’m sure it’s just me but it feels like she’s telling me that I’m a piece of shit for ever have thought those things. I’ve been on both sides. I can see where she’s coming from as a victim of one of these mass shooters and also as someone who had been bullied into such an awful mindset. In no way do I sympathize with the likes of the columbine shooters, but idk? The song just hit me weird. No hate or nothing, I love Penelope.

It’s the song’s name, so the first letter is supposed to be capitalized

You should only censor swear words in lyric videos if it matches the audio, it can be confusing and also doing that in general kind of infantalizes people with trouble hearing. Like, "well we can hear the swear words but you're too much of a baby to face them so we've taken them away"
