From 79-83 Piquet was as fast as anyone, including Prost. If he had kept that kind of speed he would be give the credit he deserves, but he had a big motivation problem. In his last year in F1 he was team mates with a young Schumacher and he was only 2 tenths slower in qualifying. In his prime he would have been faster than Schumacher. I was a huge Senna fan, Senna was the best no question, but Piquet was my favourite. He lived the F1 lifestyle how it should be lived and these days people say Kimi has character! Times have changed indeed!

Sam M If he was winning we'd probably forgive him for a lot. We forgive ibrahimovic for saying all kinds of things because he always backs his words with his performances. I'm sure if Hamilton or Vettel had an attitude, many people would look over it. It's actually the older generation that seems to have a problem with racers living the party life these days, look at how much they rag on Ham for Instagramming all the parties and events he goes to.

I absolutely agree with that. Max has been a bit of a breath of fresh air much like his current teammate has been the "fun" part of F1 for the past several years. I almost hate they are teammates, however, as I fear they are walking down the road that will lead to them spoiling each others fun with what looks to be some serious competition if RBR keeps them together.

E, realmente, a julgar pelas opiniões das pessoas na web, ou gosta dele ou o odeia. Raramente existe meio termo. Gostar dele ou não depende muito do critério, experiência de vida, princípios, ponto de vista e - na grande maioria dos casos - se ela é ou não fã do Senna. Pessoalmente, dos três campeões brasileiros na F1 ele é o meu favorito, pois teve uma trajetória das mais interessantes. Quem conhece a história de Piquet sabe o quanto ele ralou para chegar onde chegou e conquistar o que conquistou. Quanto ao ser humano, eu não o julgo. Assim como não julgo nenhum profissional fora de sua área de atuação, pois no final das contas todos eles são humanos como nós com seus defeitos e virtudes e erram como todos nós erramos nesta vida. O que pensamos ou deixemos de pensar sobre Piquet ou qualquer outra pessoa não define quem ele realmente é. Só ele mesmo pode fazê-lo. Mas nada contra quem o faz, desde que sejam justos e se lembrem que da mesma forma que julgam também serão ou são julgados.

Um gigante da f1 o problema dele da inveja que ele tem do Senna. Ele era o tri campeão aí aparece Senna o mostro da f1 apagou Piquet. Mas é tri campeão igual ao o Airton

@@Daniel-ih6ck Pq ele, como brasileiro, nunca foi amado e admirado aqui no Brasil, por culpa da própria arrogância dele. Enquanto que Senna, no seu primeiro campeonato, já era mais popular que Piquet, que já era tricampeão quando Senna ganhou seu título.

@@Andre.felipe84 O cara é milionário, empresário bem sucedido, tricampeão mundial e teve talvez a história mais precária e mais sofrida dentre os campeões brasileiros, ele sequer sonhava que pudesse chegar à F-1 e isso mostra o tamanho da reviravolta e da realização que significou ser campeão de F-1 e poder enriquecer fazendo o que mais gosta, você acha mesmo que pra alguém que conquistou tudo isso a coisa mais importante era popularidade com o povo brasileiro, coisa que ele próprio claramente rejeitava?

@@Daniel-ih6ck Rejeitava da boca para fora. Qualquer profissional bem sucedido se preocupa com o reconhecimento. Imagine só: Ele, tricampeão consagrado, se incomodado com Senna, então um piloto calouro em ascensão, a ponto de espalhar boatos difamatórios contra o cara, para diminuí-lo, só pode ser porque ele era MUITO INCOMODADO com o sucesso e a popularidade de Senna. E com certeza esse incômodo de Piquet aumentou após sua aposentadoria, já que até hoje ele não consegue receber o reconhecimento e as homenagens que qualquer tricampeão mundial receberia. (Vide a reclamação que Nelsinho Piquet fez no Twitter quando Bolsonaro sugeriu batizar o novo Autódromo do Rio de "Ayrton Senna"). No fim, ele colheu o que plantou... Ps: Ser rico não traz felicidade permanente. Só nos primeiros anos e olhe lá. Depois disso vira coisa do cotidiano e perde a graça. Se o ser humano não tiver o reconhecimento profissional que merece, principalmente quando se é famoso, com certeza ele se incomoda e muito.

É isso; o Piquet pode ter sido várias coisas negativas que já foram faladas; mas perícia em pilotagem,mecânica e honestidade em palavras poucos já o fizeram. O cara era genial e quando não quis mais ou já tinha visto que não conseguiria competir de igual pois já estava sem equipe boa para dirigir, saiu de fininho e foi pra Indy e quase morreu por lá. Ele queria ganhar csmpeonatos e dinheiro e conseguiu. Não queria mídia e bajulação. Valeu por tudo tri campeão 🏆

O Nelson Piquet foi muito injustiçado com o que se diz respeito a Valorização da nação. A imprensa ficava muito em cima de Ayrton Senna. E meio que deixava o Piquet de lado. Quando o Piquet foi tricampeão do mundo... O Ayrton Senna ainda não tinha ganhado nada. E a Globo não tava nem aí pro PIQUET, pq babavam muito ovo do Senna. Eu como Brasileiro gostos dos dois pilotos em nível de Igualdade. O problema é q a mídia engradece e fantasia demais a trajetória de Senna. E aí o Piquet fica meio de lado. Se Piquet tivesse morrido em 88 após o tricampeomato do Brasileiro vcs acham que o piquet ia ser visto como uma Lenda igual o Senna é visto hoje? Jamais... A mídia nunca teve nem aí pro PIQUET. A Globo só usa as glórias do Piquet pra falar que o Brasil tem 8 mundais na Fórmula 1.

Eu não acho nem que engrandece demais o Senna, mas só não valorizam mesmo o Piquet como deveria. Até o Fittipaldi merecia mais reconhecimento

Characters like Piquet, Lauda and Hunt are needed. They make the sport so much more interesting and provide us with much deserved reprieves from the boring, cookie cutter driver who just says what pr told them to say.

Não parece trollagem não, ele fala oq pensa mesmo, ainda q seja escroto as vezes.

O Nelson era da época que não existia o politicamente correto. Saudades Naquele tempo o piloto era campeão com 1-2 vitórias no ano. Era muito mais competitivo. Sou muito mais Piquet!!
