Shirley is one talented and classy designer. Learned a lot. Appreciate the beading discussion. Andrea and Madeline… your WIP tops are lovely. I was so delighted with the yarn shop visit… Why is it so fun to watch other people tour and visit in a yarn shop?! I feel I could mainline segments like this! I had let my Patreon support lapse due to some personal issues, but I’m glad to say I’m able to support you both again. Thanks for all the thoughtfulness you put into your show. It’s top-notch.

The amount of thought in the process of matching all the pattern details that Shirley Paden undertakes in every project is truly astounding. The time Andrea gives for Ms. Paden to explain is so valuable to every knitter and especially to designers. Thank you for this insightful interview.

The depth of knowledge, talent, class, and luxurious beauty that Shirley Paden brings to fashion and the knitting industry is an absolute delight to learn about. Your interview was definitely one of the silver linings in the disaster created by Fiona. Madeleine, thank you for your chat about social isolation and the place of knitting as a vehicle for comfort as well as community. I find it to be so true. I’m not the chattiest person when in a group, but when my knitting group gets together, I’m perfectly happy to sit and listen to the chatter and feel a part of it all. So very happy for Sofia Capelle to have found so much love and happiness. Andrea, I have full faith in you delivering the most beautiful shawl to her beads and all!!! I purchased some laceweight yarn from Fleece and Harmony on PEI after your interview with them and I think I’ll join in your lace KAL by making a lacy shawl with it. Thanks for the push!

During CoVid while my knitting group no longer met, (at the beginning of CoVid 2020) I joined a knitting Zoom just by seeing that there was one at a knitting shop website way across the U.S. in Virginia. And began learning to spin at the wheel with a Zoom teacher. After this, more and more social knitting Zooms began (at least in the US) and at the end of the pandemic, I Zoomed with 4 groups, spread over a week in different parts of the country, but people from all over the country join in each one. All those I meet with are varied in their fibre interests, so everyone learns tons and picks up so much with on going knowledge. It's lovely for people who are more outgoing and for people who are quiet and just knit and mainly observe and listen. Something in a fibre Zoom group for everyone.

I have sewed since I was 11 and learned to tailor my clothes a few years later. Given that I have been knitting from charts for decades I did learn today that I am not as smart as I think I am. A simple cable pattern on Ghostwood mittens which I have knit several times gave me the false confidence to assume reading the chart was really not required. HA! I had to rip back 3 times before it became clear that I was an over confident smarty pants. I look forward to Saturday with Fruity Knitting when I have the house and laptop to myself and can enjoy your wonderful presentations. Every July I give myself a knitting treat and binge watch all episodes from the beginning.
