At the Apostolic Church of God in Chicago (Dr. Byron Brazier), Pastor Shirley Caesar did unofficially "preach" the funeral of beloved Caravan member Inez Andrews, while Dorothy Norwood and Delores Washington, the remaining members of the legendary Gospel singers, could hardly contain the Spirit within them. This was Inez's beloved home-church, where she held long-time membership.
Among the renowned in attendance were: Toni Preckwinkle; Clay Evans; Rev. Jesse Jackson; Yolanda Adams; Dorothy Tillmon; Bishop Ellis; Dr. Charles G. Hayes; DeAndré Patterson; Ricky Dillard; Rev. T. L. Barrett; Pastor Henry O. Hardy; Rev. Humphrey; Smokie Norful; Maceo Woods; Calvin Bridges; and, many other clergy, artists, and politicians mingled with family and friends.
As credentialed official media, following the rules of ACOG staff, we alone were allowed video and photography access...in the balcony only. EVERYONE else in the sanctuary was strictly forbidden.
