I can only buy the first volume of any of the John Gwynne books.
Danger Noodle: That thing looks like it could eat the other titans and have room for more.

What I want to know is: If Danger Noodle comes back... what happens to the city built in and on its skull?! But yes, Snaka is a very big danger noodle, and I very much want to boop the snoot.

Regular snakes are neat and all but not anywhere close to my favorite animals. But you make that serpent the size of a house or bigger and suddenly is super freakin cool. I don't know why, I don't make the rules, but that's just how it is.

Same, but only because I have too many opinions on how dragon proportions should be drawn and 99% of drawn dragons look goofy to me.

@@Jrdn357 These are the laws off the top of my head: 1. Adult Dragons that aren't significantly taller(2.5 times min) than humans are a waste of time. The How To Train Your Dragon nightfury problem. 2. A dragon's wingspan must be at least 1.5 times longer than the head-to-tail length. The WoW dragon model problem. 2.5 Unless the dragon's build is leaning into the long serpentine body trope. The Smaug exception. 3. If a dragon has a chunky torso: a) it must ensure that its limbs are appropriately positioned outwards so that it doesn't look like a dog or large cat with scales. Draco from Dragonheart problem. b) if they are positioned too outwards you get a weird anthropomorphic, almost bodybuilder-like dragon, ie. most Yugioh dragon card art problem 4. This one is tricky. Maintain the neck length to body length to tail length balance. If one is stumpy or stretched, reflect it in the other proportions. 4. No arms. Any amount of limbs is acceptable as long as none are just obviously arms. If it can cross its arms in disappointment, then it's disappointed at your picture. 5. Feathers are for hollow-boned animals that don't embody magic and strength. Not dragons. The Saphira problem. 6. No wireless dongles! All gems, spikes, and other objects must be firmly connected to the dragon's person. The D&D gem dragon problem. 7. No more then four fangs to a claw and no chicken claw webby feet. 8. Be conservative with the tears in the wings. 9. Spikes are optional and appreciated, up until they destroy the silhouette. I'm sure there's more, and I'm willing to check out any picture the diagnose your dragon's problems.

@@samvimes2061 What do you think of Vhagar from House of the Dragon? I think her design is awesome, even taking into account these laws.
The way Danger Noodle looks like it's looking out of the cover at _you,_ but then you look closer and notice there's a tiny boat in the foreground that is absolutely f*cked. Amazing cover art.
Whelp, there goes the whole town of Snakavik
I think Snaka looks phenomenal, and this makes it my favorite Bloodsworn Saga cover. I SCREAMED in delight when I saw the cover reveal on Twitter. It is exactly as I imagined him, Snaka, father of the gods, awakening from his slumber, wrecking Snakavik as he opens his jaws for the first time in centuries. In contrast, the ˢᵐᵒˡ boat beneath Snaka's jaws puts into perspective we are facing a SLINKY SNAKEY GOD. I adore the way he is presented, tearing mountains apart as if they were molehills. I can't fucking wait for this book.

So the giant snake monster is called Snaka huh? how clever
The good boi is my favorite. I love all the weapons stuck on it's back and yet it still stands. It's such a strong puppers, very much wow.
You know, after that Gollum game, Shire can be about pretty much anything and it would likely be exactly the breath of fresh air we need. Gollum climbed around jankily and clipped through game geometry so Shire could blow fun smoke rings while chilling with Gandalf on a gently rolling hill.

There are loads of good cozy games out there, so it could be easily done and I'm actually invested in the lore around it. If done well, I'm up for it. I loved Lord of the Rings Online (which is still going) but it was all about the violence and not so much about second breakfast. But yes, I'm absolutely sceptical about any game released in the LOTR or Warhammer worlds. Or really anything AAA. Its better that way, so you are less disappointed as you can still be pleasantly surprised.
Every single cover of the bloodsworn saga has been absolutely jawdropping, so happy to see the third and final book having such a strong cover to cap things off! And yeah, my vote for big boy is the dragon, ya can't beat it
Finally, every nerd child who dreamed of dying and being spirited away to a fantasy world can point to isekai in the dictionary. Saying it out loud, however, will still not help deter bullying.
Big Borker is my personal fave, but Danger Rope and Flying Cat are both FANTASTIC!
The wolf, man. Giant wolves are always badass.
I love the massive mythic wolf. Clearly, Fenris Wolf inspired, and the banners across its back are superb.
Danger Noodle. The pose and the way the eyes are done is just....❤️🔥
I literally choked on my lunch when i heard 'danger noodle'. I drove through faithless and the fallen quad earlier this year and it became one of my favourite epics of all time. The sheer number of characters was hard to keep track of in hook 1, but by book 4 i loved them all, and the struggles and individual personalities each one had. Thanks for your consistent recommendations daniel
The dragon is sick as hell because, I mean dragons. But the danger noodle is a close second and the sense of scale next to that ship is threatening to tip my feelings in that direction. We'll have to wait and see until I have all of the hardbacks together 🤷♂
I agree with the concerns about milking franchises and am not super optimistic, but god I hope the Shire game will be good. A Middle-earth themed cosy game would be right up my alley.
I think for the definition of isekai, its a good overall definition that encompasses the whole of what isekai has under its umbrella.
Book 1 Dragon Cover is my #1 scale and menace is spectacular. That tiny guy be-like "LEEEEROY JEEEEENKINS!"
Again, Dangerous Visions was the first anthology I ever read. It's interesting to see what most publishers considered undesirable to publish at the time. The Word for World Is Forest is in there. Also, Ellison's editorial intros can be as memorable as the stories.
Please help Durfee Brian must be protected at all cost! Even if all you can do is show him some love in his videos please do it! The man radiates positive energy!
I like how they use a boat instead of a human to show how much bigger the Snake is compared to the dragon and wolf.
I like the wolf cover best, those flags & spears sticking out of it along with the chains add just a little extra character than the other two. But all three are awesome covers.
Isekai seems pretty accurate, they kept it reserved so it wouldn't get lost in the weeds. Now go consume "That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime"!
The Spider Within is poignantly beautiful. In a day and age where youth are constantly being pushed to the limit this short was well intentioned.

I was always annoyed at Christopher Tolkien distaste for tv and game projects associated with his father's work, but now I'm really feeling his absence as a guiding and quality assurance force.
Danger Noodle just because we've spent the first two books spending enough time in Snakavik that I can't wait for them to awaken and eat an entire city as a snack
I’m basic, too; the dragon just looks so amazing. Honestly, all three covers are iconic.
The definition for "isekai" seems good enough to encompass the things that fall into that genre whilst excluding things outside it. But definitions are shaky, so it'll be interesting to see if the genre morphs away from this definition towards something else.
Somebody really wanted that acronym to make Sphinx-ish sort of thing. That is not a criticism, I love it. Grab those books.
60 year old here, very happy to get the Last Dangerous Visions. I had not expected that. Read them both in the library before I left home. Blew my mind.
Man... Shadows of Mordor, Battle for Middle Earth, and Lord of the Rings Online were peak content.
Isekai is one of my faves because of the combination of fish out of water and the chance to explore a protagonist’s personality as our world’s morals collide with a fantasy world’s norms. Will you free slaves if you have the power? Will the Mc buy slaves himself if he could use them to achieve his goals? Will he struggle against authoritarianism or embrace it and become an emperor himself?
A giant wolf is always gonna be hard to beat, but add in the old, tattered battle flags and the chains draping off it's body.... it's one of the best covers I've ever seen. That being said I'm going with the giant serpent. Good lord.
Cover design-wise: Danger Noodle but if it's just about the creatures I vote Dragon!
The Good Boy: he has the most dangerous glare
Gotta go with the big dragon as my favorite cover of the Bloodsworn saga. Can't go wrong with a classic big, huge, massive dragon. 😍
Those irregular Malazan covers are mental. I’ve never seen copies I both hate and want so much
Man before the third installment i would have said you couldn't top the cover for Shadow of the Gods. but DAMN Snaka is working! that boat is so smol!
Dragon is awesome. The characters in these books are so well written.
Ulfethnar definitely fav of John Gwynne's covers because it's just so visceral looking.
“I like old heads and new heads side by side” D. Goblin, kinky freak or serial head collector.
Danger Noodle, and 80% because that nickname is hilarious.
The Wheel of Time is back to the center like it should be! Yay!
Blood over Bright Haven was self-published as an e-book so it's cool to see it picked up as a physical book by a larger publisher. The part about a typewriter allowing you to see things is spot on. I found the book a little young, I would have loved it as a pre-teen, but I also recognize that marketing it as more adult sci-fi/fantasy will help it reach a wider audience.
I had the privilege of editing A Sorrow Named Joy. I feel so vindicated in seeing Sarah's work finally get just a smidge of the attention it deserves. No one else I've read so seamlessly blends Fantasy/Sci-Fi elements into very real human experiences, taking us on journeys both so unexpected and so personal. There's a reason she has a reputation for making readers cry. There's also a reason that as soon as I read the first words from her, I knew that I needed to edit everything she ever writes.
I'm a fan of Danger Noodle. He's just saying hi to the little boat. ^_^
I'm getting Dune and Bloodsworn crossover vibes from that Fury of the Gods cover! Easily a top read of the year, so excited!
They all look great but the Ulfrir on the cover is just too cool
Chapters are back! Thank you 🎉
I ADORE the way Snaka looks (I also love Jormungandr so) but Ulfrir is the good boi and best father and I love his personality .
that danger noodle holy shit, like the size of that thing compared to what I"m assuming is a huge ass battle ship? imagine being infront of that thing
BOBH was a good read. The new cover is very cool. Its basically a typewriter for spells... You'll like it.
As an Australian, I will proudly represent the Kaiju Danger Noodle.
I’m with you Daniel, nothing can beat a good dragon (although your names for the other titans did help their case)
The wolf is my favorite cover from Gwynne
Danger Noodle! Mainly because Jormangandr is a badass in every story I’ve encountered.
It's the good boy, obviously. Imagine the tummy rubs
I love me that huge wolf. I mean, dragons are great, but you so rarely get oversized wolves of that variety.
Good boy is my favorite! Love the colors and he just so big!
I love the cover of Shadow of the Gods. it might be my favorite book cover of all time. It was my lock screen background on my phone for at least a year (my fianceè was not the most happy about that) And I can't wait to buy Fury of the Gods and hopefully one day own all 3 In hardback
Blood Over Bright Haven is PHENOMENAL (it was originally on Kindle Unlimited and has been picked up). The magic system is quite influenced by coding. And the book has deep real-world parallels. John Gwynne - the dragon is my favourite.
The good boy is the coolest. Dragons are always big, but big ol dog? That's cool
Blood over bright haven is an amazing book. I can’t wait for a physical book

I bought the book two months ago on Amazon when it was still indie published. Haven’t read it yet though.
All the covers are amazing but ive got to give it to the good boy, i feel his design tells a story in of itself with his back looking like a battlefield.
I loved Blood Over Bright Haven! ML Wang will be taking my money once again...
Thanks for the news, Daniel!
How could you not mention Curious King's release of Before They Are Hanged? Their deluxe edition of The Blade Itself is BY FAR the highest quality best produced book I own, and I own A LOT of deluxe editions.
Bro the danger noodle’s mouth was a --[redacted]--! Oh boy, oh boy the third book’s going to be so good.
I'm with you on the Dragon but the Good Boy is a close second
Am I the only one who would play the hell out of a Shire game in the style of Animal Crossing/Dreamlight Valley? Grow a garden, attend dinner parties, cook for your friends. It would be amazing.
Putting in my vote for the goodest boi. Fury of the Gods was probably the quickest I've preordered a book. Can't wait!
Daniel, now why did you give me a choice between a dragon, good boy, and danger noodle and expect me to be able to choose? I love them all equally, for they are beautiful.
Haven't read the books, but the wolf is by far the coolest. Makes me want to read the series.
Increasingly concerned for his vocal health at the beginning of these episodes.
Okay but I have never needed a special edition set more than the dandelion dynasty set
danger noodle is the coolest to me because I feel like a dragon and a noodle you couldn't realistically beat but you could see a dragon coming, but noodles Im assuming comes from the ground so you never really know when it is coming I could kill you without even noticing.(doggo seems easier to beat in my opinion and simple to find.)
Danger noodles, without a doubt, that might be recency bias, but it just looks so gorgeous
Yay now I can tell people that yes, my book is a reverse Isekai and they can look up that word in the dictionary.
Dragon! (Yes, also the Starbucks answer.)
For favorite of all the goliaths in the Bloodsworn Trilogy the Dragon is my favorite. Dragon all day every day! Runner up is the good boy aka angry pupper!
Thanks!
Gonna have to go danger noodle Not something I've ever said before
The dragon takes it for me personally
Cool ML Wang cover! And definitely the dragon! That cover was just insane
Dude called it a Danger noodle 😭😭😭 I’ll never recover
Can't go wrong with the big good boi
As far as the covers, I love the Hunger of the Gods with Ulfrir on the front. But the cover of The Fury of the Gods is getting me hyped for the moment we know is coming!
Kaiju Danger Noodle for me, all the way. That cover art is sick af.
i love that you called it a "danger noodle", but my fav is the dragon.
Danger good Boi. Always on the side of the good bois.
Love the wolf!
I love a good dragon 😅 have to agree with you on that one!
The Bloodsworn covers initiates my fight or flight ❤ Danger Noodle is pretty sick. I’m definitely picking up that ML Wang!!
The cover for Blood Over Bright Haven is giving off Fringe vibes.
Wow, the cover for the Fury of the Gods is my favourite for sure. I am a huge fan of the teal/cyan colour and anything that has a body shape reminiscent of a snake is something I love. I'm currently busy with Hunger of the Gods and I am definitely buying the final installment as soon as my country recieves it
Team Good Boi over here!
For Gwynne's covers, the dragon was what initially drew me into the series. Always cool, and the sheer size of it seemed daunting. But seeing a Fenrir-esque beast for the second just seemed really cool. The snake is also just as badass. If I was basing it purely on the covers, I think I'd have to go with the wolf for sheer cool factor. But having read the books and knowing WHO the snake is... well, I'm REALLY excited to see how that's going to play out, and what the ramifications are going to be seeing it return to this amazing world Gwynne has built.
It feels pretty tough to pick just one, but my heart says I have to pick the good boy as my favorite.
