    You can go there all the way by bus. From Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal, buy bus ticket to Takayama for 7k Yen. Then from Takayama, buy bus ticket to Shirakawago. All the bus ticket can be bought online too

    your explanations are so detailed (thank you so much!) that you even advise to use the toilet in the train as the station one is crowded. I appreciate your tip :) as I do not like crowded toilet. Btw, how many hours you spent at the village? Thank you...done subscribe!

    Thank you so much for watching!🙏 toilets are big deals to me so I tend to pay attention to them :) I think we spent about 3 hours in Gokayama, since we sat down for lunch and cafe, slow travel, really took time to enjoy Gokayama. We spent more time in Shirakawago because it's bigger, and more crowded too.

    Thanks for teaching about Gokayama! Everybody talks about Shirakawa-go. It's like Gokayama is to Shirakawa-go as Kanazawa is to Kyōtō. The entrance to Kanazawa Station is quite remarkable architecture, too!

    Thank you for this video! this really helped me plan my first trip in April! one question: if im using the Hokuriku Arch Pass would it be better to go to Shirakawa-go from Kanazawa or would it be better to stop in Johana station and taking a bus from there?

    Thank you so much for watching!🙏 personally I'd go to Shirakawa-go from Kanazawa. that's only 1 transfer from the shinkansen to the bus. I think the bus is not included in that pass. you need to purchase the bus ticket.

    we spent the night at a Japanese hotel (Ryokan) called Onyado Yuinosho. it's not located at a location walkable to the village, but they have the hotel free shuttle buses to bring guests to the bus station in town. absolutely loved the hotel and the foods! if it's not too cold, I'd also love to stay somewhere within the village, just so I can have a early morning walk around before it gets crowded ^^

    Hi, I am interested to explore both Gokayama and Shirakawa-go, but am afraid if the bus connecting both would take too long? Are there many buses connecting this two places, what's the waiting time, and also the average costs. Thank you

  • @ONEGOODDREAM

    @ONEGOODDREAM

    6 ай бұрын

    Hi, there are not many buses connecting the 2 places, about one every hour or less, depending on time. it takes about less than 40 min from Suganuma bus station in Gokayama to Shirakawago bus station and the cost is 870 yen/adult. no reservation is required for this bus. here's the bus website: www.kaetsunou.co.jp/ol/regular/sekaiisan.html Gokayama was so peaceful and not crowded. I highly recommend it :)
