Shipwreck Survivor's Tale in the Antarctic Ocean | The Last Man Off | Matt Lewis

Matt Lewis is a survivor from the tragic sinking of the Sudur Havid fishing trawler, a long line vessel catching toothfish. On the 6th of June 1998 the ship and her crew were in serious difficulty, with the boat taking on water and beginning to list to the side the men had to abandon ship into a ten meter swell with a water temperature of minus one centigrade, almost the freezing point of sea water. Matt Lewis was the last man off the boat to get into one of the poorly maintained life rafts, from this point on, the men have no hope of rescue and are adrift in an inflatable raft in unimaginably hostile conditions.
