This video is so good! I have their entire Korean discography (minus the Japanese and Taiwan versions), and while I have at least one version of almost their entire Japanese catalog, I'm still missing quite a lot and it gets confusing really fast so thank you!!

That must have been a ton of money :0 the Japanese releases are especially expensive, and Jonghyun's Op1 LP version is super rare now. That's one impressive collection! With Atlantis (2 versions), Advice, Superstar (7 versions) and Bad Love (6 versions if you count the different photobooklet covers with LP on the way) released I believe there's a total of 191 now. Nearing that 200 mark lol. Anticipate Jinki's new album.

I've been in the fandom since Ring Ding Dong was released, so the albums weren't rare when I purchased them...which makes it easier. ^^ I also bought Jonghyun's LP when it wasn't a rarity yet....For the Japanese albums I bought most of them for around 300-500 Yen on the secondhand market when I lived in Japan, so I didn't pay much for the CDs nor the shipping. ^^ But yes, if I hadn't been lucky with 1. being in the fandom as long as I am 2. not having lived in an area where it's easier to get things - then this would have been a ton of money indeed. ^^ I've heard that Jinki's album is going to be released next year, so we still have some time to save up for it. But I can't wait for his new album - I absolutely loved Voice (still do). ^^

@ yeah it does make a lot of sense, the Japanese albums only get expensive when it's an online purchase + shipping. I have actually lived in Japan too in the past but I was never really a serious collector so only bought a few at Bookoff and they were indeed very cheap and in an excellent condition, although second-hand, so it's definitely good value haha. Many of the albums had become rare because of no restock these days and it's difficult to get some of them which also raises the price but since you're basically an OG Shawol you didn't have that issue :) I only joined the fandom in 2016. Yes, I'm looking forward to what he's got for us this time. I wouldn't mind a similar style album as Voice but ngl it would be very cool if he explored some different genres, a slow rnb jam for example.

@ I have probably watched all of the videos on your channel from the SHINee concerts in Japan, some of them I watch on repeat lol, especially the Diamond Sky performance since it's probably my favorite Japanese B side and it's really rare to find some of them, I believe they are not even on the official DVD's (or only edited/short versions) so thank you for that ^^ I've always wondered how did you manage to film all of them though lol, like I know it's strictly prohibited to film any concert in Japan, I've attended a few SHINee concerts while I was there and there's ton of guards constantly keeping an eye on everyone so I didn't even try to, you must have hella stealth skills :D

@@Lawol I've only really got into serious collecting when I moved to Japan (before that I only bought one version of each album), but times were different back then, so I always feel sorry when there are new fans who are into collecting and who have to deal with ridiculous prices for CDs because they are out of print and people price them up. :/ Yeah, I think a lot of people hope for a more upbeat album from him, but when it comes to me - I love ballads - so I wouldn't mind if he released another ballad album. But I guess we'll soon enough. ^^

​@@Lawol Unfortunately, there was never a proper DVD release for SHINee World FIVE which sucks because it was my favorite tour. There is only a digest on the Best of album - so yeah, there is only the short version of Diamond Sky available on DVD. :( But I guess it's better than nothing. Yeah, they are super strict in Japan, that's correct - but I do have my secrets and tricks lmao, so I never feared that someone would pick me out in the crowd. I developed the uchiwa trick during my stay in Japan. I always hid the camera behind my fan, so no one would notice. ^^" During the Dome Tour dates two other international Shawols accompanied me and they didn't even notice that I was filming, despite sitting right next to me. :'D But I only did that for concerts in Japan. I've also attended two of Jonghyun's concerts in Seoul, but there I would have never dared to take my camera out since the securities were always super scary looking. haha

Honest question: why do you add the Japanese versions of Amigo, Romeo, 2009 The Year of Us and Lucifer among the Korean albums and not among the Japanese ones? It's not the first time I see people doing this and it confuses me a bit, since in my mind those are also from Japanese discography, but since I've seen it done more than once I feel like I am the one missing some detail 🤣 PS: Your Japanese collection makes me very envious. I quit collecting the Japanese versions mostly due to financial reasons but the collector in me really wish I had them all LOL

I don't know why others sort the albums the way they do, I can only speak for myself here. ☺️ I do it because they are still albums sung in Korean and were only packaged differently for the Japanese market. That's the only reason. ☺️ But whatever works for everyone else. I bought the majority of my Japanese collection while living in Japan and most of them were secondhand purchases (one album for 300 Yen)...but yes, buying them all new would have been huge financial burden I believe. 🫣
