SHINee is my favorite group. been a fan for 15 years. Jonghyun is their 5 member who passed away 6 years ago on 12/17/17. He truly is a vocal king, and they are known as the Prince's of KPOP.

Also one of the best stylists and custom designer, amateur opera singer and good actor...They just have the IT factor and have taken their journey and grown with bumps along the way...but have stayed the course and have paced themselves to be at this point....legends with no comparisons...

I'm still angry over what happened to F(x). It's not all SM's fault (Victoria has a part in it) but SM still did them bad.

Back when SHINee had a "main" vocal, it was Jonghyun, Jinki (Onew) was lead vocalist.... then as Jonghyun himself said SHINee has 5 vocalists. Those "roles" do not apply anymore, they all main/lead sing, all are soloists... You did recognized the "main" singer tho

If you'll notice at 19:08 - 19:11 Taemin has is left arm extending outward. That is a spot for Jonghyun because SHINee will always be 5. You see this sort of recognition in all of their more recent concerts/MVs.

onew is the kind of leader who supports his group rather than leading them from the top. that's why you see him very so often letting his members shine and giving them the support they need to be their best in the team. this is why onew is an amazing leader and why the members love him so much

The guy with the cool hair is KEY, the guy with the good voice is ONEW, he's the leader of SHINee and Onew is my bias in this group.

Me, me I love 2nd gen groups and sound, maybe cause I'm older than the average KPop fan 😆. I also like 3rd gen, EXO, BTS, BtoB, MonstaX, but haven't gone deep into 4th gen yet. SHINee is my home, no other group will replace them as my top favorite 💙💙💙💙💙

I started listening to Kpop in 2017 but the 2nd Gen is the best Gen so far, I love it so much, the songs are so iconic 🔥🔥

Fun fact. Suho the leader of EXO was suppose to be in Shinee. But he was injured when Shinee was close to debut. Lol He is very close with Shinee. Sadly the guy who did the crazy high notes in the live performance is our angel Jonghyun. One of the best vocalist. Everybody is in their 30’s now. Taemin is the maknae, youngest in the group. In Atlantis Onew is the one who did the 8 second note. The leader and oldest member. Without knowing at the time Shinee help to put kpop on the map. They are known as Princes of kpop. :)

Shinee and Exo are obviously from the same company but they’re also really close! Jonghyun (main vocalist in shinee) was extremely passionate in singing, composing, and producing and he literally helped train/shape the vocals of Taemin (baby Taemin didn’t even get lines when he debuted, the amount of work this man has put into his vocals is honestly pretty unrivaled in kpop) as well as Exo’s Baekhyun and more! He also wrote many songs for other artists across K-pop - he wrote the song Playboy that Exo sings!

Lol. Jonghyun was truly a one of a kind artist and is missed so dearly. He was so involved in writing and producing music for other artists too so the whole creative industry really suffered a massive loss that day. You could make a whole video out of diving into his catalog.

12:14 someone being the leader of the group doesn't mean they have to be/stand in the centre all the time. Onew is SHINee's leader, Jonghyun is SHINee's centre and Taemin is usually in the centre for performances/choreos. Someone thinking of Taemin as SHINee's leader is so funny to me 😂 He's forever their baby.

Replay is from 15 years ago, and Taemin never was the leader, he was a literal kid when they debuted (14 y.o.). he was the center during Japanese promo and in the most choreographies. right now they don't have a fixed center they remind you of EXO because they're also from SM, vocal powerhouse. fun fact the main vocalist Jonghyun wrote/composed one of EXO songs, Playboy (he also was an exceptional writer and composer, and had a big impact on SM and the industry). they're all friends with each other SHINee are the kings of live stages. their level of energy is unmatched. each of them is insanely talented and creative and has an amazing solo career too

Being Leader in kpop is not abt being in the centre...its abt leading the group and taking care of the members and the communicating with management. As this is in Japan...Taemin is centre n face of SHINee. In the old days in Seoul centre is hold by Jonghyun...he was the main vocalist and the one that do the high notes...but they all can do high note . As u will learn a kpop group can hv more than one vocalist, so Onew is also SHINee's main vocalist. Taemin is SHINee maknae...the youngest...every member n fans love him!!! Taemin was the center in Japan, Jonghyun was the center in Korea and on the pictures. idk about 'face' of the group but the visual was Minho

Being center doesn’t mean you are the leader. Kai of EXO is the group’s center while Suho is the Leader. Whereas in Shinee, Taemin is the center while Onew is the Leader. Lead Vocalist & Group Leader: Onew Main Vocalist: Jonghyun Main Dancer/Center: Taemin Main Rapper: Minho Lead Dancer/Rapper: Key After Jonghyun’s passing and due to group’s maturity and seniority in Kpop According to shinee members, they no longer hold positions. Anyone can be the main dancer or main singer but Onew remains the group leader!

**Someone replying my comment by telling me to stop mentioning this lipsync thing cause taemin just did 2 days concert and sing live apparently. That's not him/her exact words, but the point is like that. And he/she deleted the reply. So in case he/she come back, down below is my answer. @mie6437 don't be over sensitive over people's comment. You can't command anyone to do what you want. If SM artists already start to do live singing again then great. I'll come back to watch their TV performances again. I'll see are they still worthy to watch. But you can't make me stop saying anything about SM behaviour for the past few years. Watching the groups performances is traumatic. Their amazing vocals is wasted just like that. The TV performances only pleasing to the eyes. But they are singer afterall, so don't blame people if they feels dissappointment over the vocal performance. Imagine, SM is known for the gods and goddess of live vocals in k-pop but suddenly the company didn't even try to hold onto the name anymore. I honestly stop watching their TV performances when even BoA have to perform by lipsync-ing with Got the Beat. Auto tune, loud backtrack, and lipsync is not uncommon at all. Rookies with short trainee time and the untalented ones vocally can get away with it but what about SM vocal giants? So don't get mad/lashing out at anyone saying things about this. You have things to say about this, other people also have their opinion about it.

Check out all their discography and solo work. All of their concerts are here in KZread except for the following. The tribute concert for jonghyun in the Feb of 2018 3 months after he passed. Their shineeworld BY illumination concert and Taemins metamorph concert he had over the weekend though you can find a fan cam of his Sunday performance. Minho said they were worried as he started the show upside down with his song the rizzness. And then did the song door that way too halfway through. Onews one concert he did in Japan is here in KZread how long is anyone's guess since Japanese content tends to get blocked or taken down. And key's old concerts are not available either. Well being a center is a separate thing from being a leader, a leader is more like keeping the guys in check and leading them where the center is kinda like the face of the group

Hello, I hope you can understand what that I said, because I dont speak english haha, but, ONEW is the guy from the first video with the voice, he does the high note in atlantis, KEY has the red hair, and btw he designs all their clothes to the concerts, TAEMIN, well we know him, and JONGHYUN is our angel, he has the high notes in every video, he was the most beautiful person and the most talented man in the music industry, he passsed away in december 1th 2017, togheter are amazing, because still are 5, forever five.

Haha, yep, Taemin's the center (in SM, the leader is typically the oldest member, not the center... also, Taemin's the youngest and loves being the youngest) and has that little dance break in Replay (which SHINee has made fun of for years now lol). His voice was still changing at the time so he actually doesn't have any real lines in Replay, that's how young he was. :') And yeah, Minho and Key are both baritones, but Key has a very wide range and tends to sing higher while Minho typically takes the low parts in their harmonies; SHINee songs are pretty high overall and considered difficult to cover. Onew (oldest and leader) and Jonghyun were only four months apart, age-wise. Onew was born in Dec. '89 and Jonghyun was born in April '90, but Onew usually always looked younger. Jonghyun is "the guy with the cool hair" in Sherlock, and he was SHINee's main vocalist until he passed away. Onew's technically the main vocalist now, but they themselves often say that all four of them are main vocals. You should've reacted to "Excuse Me Miss" because that performance has a part at the end where each member's name is called. 😂 Key's the one with the pink hair who says "Are you ready!" at the beginning in Everybody. Onew has dark hair in Everybody. (Watch a short guide: watch?v=ctIp6XGCK7E) They've also sold out Tokyo Dome for a fanmeeting, even! Wasn't even a concert. Ages during Atlantis, from oldest to youngest: Onew, 31; Key, 29; Minho, 29; Taemin, 27. Yeah, they look quite young. The fact that a member stays in the centre does mean that he has a certain role to play on stage and not that he's the leader (think of jungkook....) In the specific of Shinee, they used to have two different formations: in japan, Taemin was the centre; in Korea, Jonghyun was the centre.

In the Sherlock performance, the one you thought was Onew was actually Jonghyun. The one with the icy blonde hair in a backcomb is Jonghyun, who, until his passing was one of the main vocalists of Shinee.

In Japan, Taemin is the center but in Korea its Jonghyun. The one who's doing all "those notes" is Jonghyun (the main MAIN vocalist lol). In pictures, you'll 99% always see them from left to right: Onew, Taemin, Jonghyun, Minho, Key. But ofcourse if its in Japan its: Onew, Jonghyun, Taemin, Minho, Key. Onew is like a "go get your spotlight" kind of leader.

center and leader is the two completely different positions. leader in kpop group is the one who leads the group, whos mostly responsible for the members. center is the one who stands in the center for group photos, for the performances etc. f.e: namjoon is the leader of bts jungkook is the center; suho is the leader of exo and kai is the center; hanbin is the leader of zb1 and zhang hao is the center

In the Sherlock live the one with the white hair going crazy vocally is Jonghyun, the one with the pink-ish hair is Onew and the one with the "cool" green hair is Key.

leader doesn't have to be in the center, it's mostly the one who is the wisest and can bring up the whole team together hence why onew is perfect for it. taemin is in the center during performances because he is the main dancer (the group's dance will look better in general by putting him in the center) while during interviews, variety shows, photoshoots or other stuffs it's usually jonghyun in the center who is more outspoken and confident.
