Ok my fun dance fact is that one of my favourite dances, the Argentine Tango, initially emerged as the ‘music of the unprivileged’ in the working-class neighborhoods in Buenos Aires and is a brilliant amalgamation of European, African and South American styles! I love that term ‘music of the unprivileged’ especially when you consider how elegant and regal Tangos can come across, the fact it is actually a display of passion and struggle of the everyday person 💃🏼

It's so funny how SM gave Ian the note "make it harder" for View while SHINee's always like "when View came out, we were like can this really be the choreo? we're not even sweating by the end!" Goes to show that 'difficult' or impressive choreography doesn't always have to be crazy power cardio moves - technique, execution, and details matter.

Taemin did say that because of View he learned that choreo didn’t always have to leave you breathless by the end of it to have an impact. And that’s how Move choreo was born

The fact that world renowned choreographers like Ian Eastwood, Koharu Sugawara, Keone Madrid and Bailey Sok have all choreographed for Taemin… Some of them more than once… I just love how he’s loved and praised by the greatest people in the field for his exceptional talent, skills and working ethics. I hope to see more reactions like this one to his songs on this channel.

I remember Taemin once said about working with Ian that he was astonished how Ian could hear certain sounds in the instrumental or vocal parts of the song which were not at all obvious and choreograph to them, instead of the usual, strong beats. He thought it showed a huge musicality that Ian had and was full of admiration. I think Taemin’s musicality when it comes to dancing (and singing as well) is honestly of the charts! Perhaps that’s one of the reasons their collaboration was so successful and one of the reasons so many amazing choreographers wants to work with him repeatedly.

Taemin is the bomb, there's no-one like him. He's been killing it ever since he went solo and continues to bring it like no one can. He is a very talented, unique and amazing performer. I love him so much, out of all the Kpop artists of his generation, he stands out the most for me. And the new up & coming generations can definitely learn a lot from him. He's a legend.

Bailey Sok choreographed for Taemin????!

I remember Taemin mentioning how "View" was actually kinda difficult and frustrating for him because the choreo didn't feel hard enough, because it was so different from SHINees usual very extreme choreos. But actually came to realize that just big difficult movements aren't what defines good dance, and that is how he came up with "Move". Arguably one of the most icon choreos and songs not only out of taemins discography but out of all of kpop. Just goes to show I guess really how insane of a artist taemin is, and how his style is always evolving.

This video just reminded me of the time Taemin performed Danger at some kind of dance academy and Ian surprised him in the crowd. I found the ties between these two particularly touching. Taemin will be soon discharged from military, I feel like his absence have lasted 100 years.. 🥲

@@talarv9026 It is not fully confirmed but it is believed that he was harassed during his military service like many other K-Idols. Especially when you consider that Taemin has a very feminine beauty that you might consider androgynous. He would have already been diagnosed as depressive before his enlistment but it would have worsened during his service, to the point of having been changed unit. There are few articles in internet that explain his case if want to know more

I love Ian and Taemin’s collaboration, loved Ian’s contribution to IDEA too! And I remember Ian even recorded a short greetings for Taemin before his enlistment…? And additionally this channel also do reaction not only focused on the original choreographer so it’s not a problem to request a reaction on dance, as this channel is focused to. This is why I find it funny when I read people saying that Taemin is a contemporary dancer lol he has a base in popping locking krumping dancing style and more because he taught himself from a very young age, added to the fact that he was inspired by his idols, such as MJ and Usher. That Taemin is interested in incorporating contemporary dance into his skills and part of his presentation as an artist is amazing too, he is not afraid to try styles as long as they are part of what he wants to capture in his work. It reminds me of when the rest of SHINee said that Taemin is a monster that absorbs everything like a sponge and takes the best of each member of the group haha Btw, the choreo on the Tuxedo Way mv is so dooooope! Ian, you and all the dancers were amazing! Pleeeaseeeee, grab Taemin by the ear when he comes back and have fun together with other dancers and introduce him to more styles. 19:29 This part made me crack up! The thing about Taemin is, he has this extra something that makes all choreo his style. His body line also helps him with creating the final product which is seems like art for me. No other dancer could do that.

When they describe him as an MJ of kpop, not because he dancing like MJ or he become a 2nd MJ, its because they both has identity, their dance their move is identical. They said, you can put both of them behind the curtain still you can identify them because of their style and gesture.

To comment about what they said about K-POP artists and popping, back when Taemin debuted, that was actually the style he did.

Hope you can also invite Tony Testa? Since his first work in Kpop was SHINee's Sherlock and it remains to be one of the legendary choreos of all time

When Taemin said he made MOVE cuz he found out it’s okay to do chill dances like view. 😭🫢Now hearing them talk about the dance makes me think what exactly IS hard then? I feel like since idols have to sing too, they probably find more technical dances easier - it gives them more time to breathe. Something like everybody is really fast and takes a lot more energy to execute, so it makes sense that they still see it as their hardest choreo. That song also has a lot more belting so both the song and dance require a lot of breath while view stripped back both the choreo and singing.

lots can be considered hard. controlling for slower movements can be harder than faster movements because it takes more control, and the slower movements are more noticeable if done incorrectly. fast can be hard because theres lots of moves that need to be hit by a certain beat. keeping time. controlling every part of your body and isolations, all difficult. really depends on what youre doing

I agree with Ian that Taemin is a monster on stage plus the great stage presence. Damn. Taemin is the best 😍

you know the fun fact is that shinee actually said that view was the first song they were not exhausted after performing, so they felt a bit uncomfortable and weird at first. lol

Yup, he did and more than once. He also took part in choreographing Taemin’s IDEA alongside Kasper, Keone Madrid and Bailey Sok.

I don't know if people know how much Ian's choreography has so much depth and musicality to them since so much of his concepts aren't what people are typically drawn to especially in Kpop. Him working with Taemin is like fate bringing them together since they not only have a similar body type but just the attention to detail and artistry is soliddddd. I'm super glad Ian gets more love especially when World of Dance didn't showcase his choreo to the level it should've been shown. I hope that he gets more spotlight for his work and appreciation because he's a hella amazing dancer, artist, and freestyler.

No other idol is or will be on Taemin's level when he released Danger as a solo artist at his young age in 2014. We love our hardworking Taem

The choreography for both View and Danger are still one of the most iconic ones out there and I am so proud of SHINee, especially Taemin, for pulling it off. Even though Ian said he was experimenting a lot on the choreo for View, until now, it looks fresh and still had that signature move that fit the song and artist so well. My dad worked at the theater where they would show Monsters Of Hip Hop every year. That’s where I first saw Ian Eastwood. Big fan, of course. To then become a SHINee fan and have him enter that world as well is so crazy. And in such an important way. He is partially responsible for the success of SHINee’s first ever solo comeback. Also one that came after their first big hiatus. Like, as a Shawol and a fan of dance in general, I love you, dude! 😆
