Love the song, and that last line....wow. I love when phrases take on completely different meanings when spoken versus written, depending on interpretation. Is it "Remember, start your day without rage" or "Remember, start your your day with outrage."? Brilliant.

@@barrettross3772 You're right about the message of the song overall, but it's the Commie computer voice speaking the line along with a tirade of "checking your screens for accepted behaviors"....etc. The band is probably saying "with outrage", but the voice is intending "without rage"...ie, "keep calm and accept being controlled". Again, it's brilliant wordsmithing.

The sound of Shinedown is like a smell from my childhood. It's engraved in my soul. Awesome song and awesome directing of the music video.

I like the way the lyrics succinctly express our lives today. Took me a couple times seeing the video to get the gravity, but the song itself hits so hard every man woman and child needs to hear it. Pulled up the lyrics and have sang along a dozen times now tonight. Already working on my Sean Connery impersonation version, probably never to be released. Entertaining my own insane self, here.

I almost always get the chills with any song you put out, but I have never, and I do mean NEVER, teared up like I just did. The song itself is already a masterpiece, but holy mother of God......the symbolism, the cinematography, the lyrics, all of it is just *chef's kiss*!

I know it's going to be great, It's SHINEDOWN, Of course, that's all they do is The Best. They put everything they are as a family into their music and share their thoughts, feelings, experiences, and what's going on in the world into their lyrics, and their sound. Their talent is amazing individually, but together, as a family, they have the most Excellent sound in every song, all of their feelings and emotions come out in every song. Omg, I absolutely love the direction this album is heading in. The cryptic messages and the concept I feel it's going for are so good

Shinedown played at a small venue here in Lafayette Louisiana before they made it big. I really wish I had taken photos that night. These guys are great, nice, humble, no ego, appreciate their fans, make/write great tunes and have a never ending supply of music for our ears and brains. Eric said in an interview that they will never have a “best of”. Simply because they have so much music in their catalog that we haven’t heard. Love those guys and I am looking forward to 4/22/22.

I'm slowly getting more and more addicted to this song. The raw power of the guitar and Brent's vocals plus the otherworldly theme and lyrics give it a really dope sci-fi feel .

i had written planet zero on the front of my sketchbook in the planet zero alphabet (i dont know its name-) and someone asked what it was and i said "its a shinedown thing" and my art teacher goes "Oh, ive seen them live! Yeah, it was fun." coolest art teacher ever.

This whole record is the realist I've ever heard Shinedown.

This song… just wow! The Attention Attention album hit me so hard with the message behind every song. I’m soo excited to see what the rest of this album brings! This song relays the message of our true life right now and the realistic fears for the future we are facing, excellently! Alright, so hear are the translations (hidden in case you want to figure it out yourself): All band members have name tags, the higher one says Planet Zero on each member, and the lower one is each members name The chessboard: INITIATE SEQUENCE OBEDIANT HUMANITY MAINTAIN THE FEAR JUDGMENT IDEOLOGY Pool/Countertop: OBEDIANCE IS OBLIGATORY DISSENT IS FORBIDDEN COMPLIANCE IS MANDATORY MISTAKE ARE NOT TOLERATED The Sky when Zach looks out the window: COMPLY Brent Subtitles: THIS IS NOT REAL The Side of the building is already translated, it is the same as the subtitles (this is also cool because we only previously knew the alphabet, and now we have the glyphs for 4 and 9). I every occurrence of the words obedient or obedience is spelled wrong, they use an A instead of the second E. I don't know if this is a mistake on the post production's end or a clue. Also who the hell is Cyren!?!

I have such high hopes for this album, I can't wait

this is the song that introduced me to this band. Its now my favourite. Getting me through the hard times. When i cant sleep at night i blast one of your songs and, at least for a while, it numbs the pain to the point i can sleep.

The cipher on the counter at 2:42 says "Obedience is obligatory Dissent is forbidden Compliance is mandatory Mistakes are not tolerated" And at 2:56 Brent says "This is not real" There's probably some hidden messages in the pool and on the chessboard, but those look a bit more complicated and I didn't bother trying to solve them lol Edit: I went back and solved the chessboard cipher. It's at 2:40 and it says "Initiate Sequence Obedient Humanity Maintain The Fear Judgment Ideology" I took a serious look at the pool cipher and I'm pretty sure it's just segments of the counter cipher. If there's an actual different message in it, I wasn't able to find it.

I think that them keeping such a high energy is what sets them apart from the bands they are leaving behind. So many bands after their 4th or 5th album start just sounding tired or repetitive. These guys have only gotten better.

Wow. These guys have been putting out bangers since I was in middle school. I’m 32. This song could definitely be applied to Christianity in modern US/Europe. They’ll never murder our hero…

I admit that the science fiction futuristic dystopian slant of this Planet Zero video definitely matches the abstract yet cutting edge energy of this Shinedown song.

So amazing! The cinematography was stellar as always. Love the storyline this is creating. Can't wait for the whole album! Shinedown does it again!

I’ve had quite a connection to shinedown for a long time their song diamond eyes was the first song I heard from them and had been my favorite ever since but I think this one just top it and if they are coming to St. Louis then I cannot what for what shinedown has in store for their next album

Just saw Shinedown live for the 3rd time at UMBC outside of Baltimore, MD. This song sounds amazing in person. I have no idea how Brent's voice has still held up for 20 years but it shows no signs of aging. The setlist tonight was damn near perfect. Looking forward to seeing them again next time they come back around the neighborhood...

I heard this on the radio forever Love the video matchs up to the lyrics.People now a days don't listen or care about the message.Always got to listen over and over.Shinedown always love there music.

I knew that the Music Video was going to be totally epic, And I couldn’t have been more right about that. I also have to mention how relevant these lyrics are in these times that we are living in.

Shinedown is the most honest band out there. The message of the entire album is a spot on, as always.

I love Shinedown, have been a fan since a Leave a Whisper first came out. Every album is sonically better than the last.

The single "Planet Zero" highlights the dangerous consequences that will come when everything goes too far and we begin to lack respect for those who hold different opinions than ours and compassion for others.

And once again, the guys from Shinedown NAIL IT! The lyrics, the visual - all of it. You guys NEVER disappoint! Much respect!

I feel that the social commentary within this song strikes the nail on the head. The internet and social media as a whole acts as an infinite and all seeing judge "they swing their gavel's hard". And the jury demands nothing short of perfection and absolute agreement "on your knees or you'll be replaced" also owes to the fact that if you DONT share the mainstream views those in control won't hesitate to throw you away and replace you. "They're canceling your feelings" speaks of cancel culture as a whole and its infinite toxicity. "Out here on planet zero we live like no tomorrow" also speaks on the problem that people are trapped in an endless cycle of constant hedonism which ultimately has caused us to "reach our ceiling", all these combined on top of the various world governments abusing and manipulating our views convincing us this all gives "the power to the people". Everything in our modern world has been meticulously crafted to either aid in or directly keep the 99% actively oppressed and distracted from realizing WE have the real power and not them. Of course this is just a KZread comment but it all rings true just the same
