This is really nice thank you, just started putting in footlocks in with my lapel guard so this fits in really nicely.

I'm going to add this to my, "stuff to try list"; and I imagine I'll have a lot of opportunity for mount escapes as I work this one.

Why grab the knee and then go for shin to shin instead starting with Shin to Shin ?

Quite simple to drill actually, I have trouble with transitions from single leg X to that other control (X guard variation?) but sweep and finish are basic stuff that works in this or in some other setups (De La Riva/Spider combo).

Can you berimbolo from there instead of a footlock attack?

You can also switch from single leg x to regular x and sweep him then?!

This is some good sport BJJ, might be a little bit too complex and bold for MMA style BJJ

The complexity and improbability of this move is very high. I've been training Ju Jitsu for almost 20 years now, and these techniques are just asking for trouble. For instance, just to sit up toward someone's knee in that manner is very dangerous. From there, everything you are doing is instigating additional problems. Finally, I've seen a lot of very weird and strange leg/knee/ ankle locks. Like a wrist lock, they always seem to work once, and they always seem to work on beginners--- But once a venerated student sees them, a counter move is almost immediately produced to stop them dead in their tracks. Might I suggest you listen to Solo Rebrera or Relson Gracie.

Geddes is a competitor. His stuff is competition tested. If he says it works for him, I'll take him at his word. He is not a very athletic or powerful competitor and he lives and dies by his technique. I can't really see him and Nic discussing what they could show that doesn't work. Brazilian jiu jitsu guys do real sparring every time they hit the mat and what works and what doesn't is never a question of theory. If he says it will work, he says it because it has, it does and it will continue to do so.

When he is an 8 time Brazilian National Champ like Solo Rebera, maybe I'll take a second look. I've been doing this in terms of decades. "Boot to the head" is what you're going to get.

Knowitallus Rex. Boots to the head are illegal in a competition setting. You might have had a few too many boots to the head yourself. This is sport BJJ. These guys are Roger Gracie black belts. Roger is the most dominant BJJ champion of the modern era and that's the most competitive era. Roger himself is known for making "old school" BJJ work in competition but is not stuck in the early 90s as regards sneering at developments. Do you believe in Intelligent Design?

My teachers in Ju Jitsu were Relson, Rorion, Rickson, Royce, and their father... The Master of Brazilian Ju Jitsu; God Rest his Soul. I've been training with the Gracies since 95. Old school, is not the 90's, men like me just made it popular with our thousands of victories. Old school is the 1800's. Ju Jitsu hasn't changed in a very long time, maybe with Master Gracie, or even Kato. Everything that is here, in this video, I've seen long before this last decade. It is not original. There is nothing new under the sun.

angel666 this is much stronger sweep than just single x. Because of control of both legs. Downsides are the steps.

Very practical ... it is just an x guard entry and the rest is elementary
