@@enigma2513 You're kidding yourself if you think that an "alternative story" is a good enough excuse to resell what is essentially the same game at the same price. If they wanted to tell two different stories so bad then they could have easily found a way to do them both in the first game.

Atlus got me this time, but never again will I buy an Atlus game at launch, I’ll wait 2-3 years for the better version.

I wish i could say that, because the original persona 5 is an amazing game on its own and i loved playing it, never played royal but i think it is even better than the original. But for smtv i feel like ive been played. The original game let me feeling like it was so lackluster. The story is straight up bad, specially when compared to persona 5, a game from years prior by the same developers. But this new version of smtv looks like it solves a lot of the problems i had with the og

@@NeuviletteBR I just hate this business practice of theirs to release a vanilla version first (P5 vanilla was good but Royal definitely improved) and then release the definitive version with extra content and improved in most, if not every way. I think we’ve just got to expect that from Atlus until they stop. Though I am afraid if a vanilla version flops then we don’t get the actual good version. It’s tough.

Well that’s because it’s only in Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne the first SMT game to be released in North America in 2004 and Europe in 2005. But if Capcom thinks about making Devil May Cry 6, I hope Reuben Langdon returns and he won’t be like Hellena Taylor if he doesn’t get the role.

The OG story is included as a separate campaign and the stories start the same. It’s unknown how and when they deviate, though. Based on my knowledge of the base game, a lot of these cutscenes are completely new and it looks like a step up. I probably won’t preorder until there are reviews out, though.

It seems to be new like Apocalypse, they said it's another 80 or so hour different take on it with stuff they wished they could've done. It does also have the original version in it with QOL updates from the Vengeance path if you didn't get the original game.

@@KuZaFGC Yeah if you never got the original SMTV then you might as well wait for this version since it contains both stories in it and the OG story has the QOL introduced in Vengeance.

SMTV was the first time I played SMT and it ended up being one of my favourite games of 2021, so I'm looking forward to the new campaign. On a side note, 2021 had a lot of good games, at least in my opinion.

Ya know, I'm just gonna straight up stop buying Atlus games when they first come out, and maybe just altogether, because they ALWAYS release some sort of "definitive edition" a few years after the original came. It's the reason I haven't bought Persona 3 Reloaded yet because god forbid they release "Persona 3 Reloaded Definitive Master Edition Plus" by 2027. Nobody wants to buy a game twice, especially triple A games considering how expensive they are.

At least for that game, it sounds like they’re just releasing the DLC, the answer or episode August. The only thing I could see him doing for the remake is making a gold edition like other AAA get with all of the DLC included.

Agreed. Then the rabid fanboys will just keep justifying it by saying that the original still gives you long gameplay hours of grinding. If there's gonna be a better version that's still got what the base game has, why should I be okay with spending the extra $60 twice when I could've spent just the 60 once on the latest version WITH a fleshed out story? I had to grab the steelbook edition to have it next to OG SMT V on switch, I'm going to grab it elsewhere too, its so amazing to see the previous characters fleshed out more, compared to vanilla SMT V. Each trailer for Vengeance gets me so excited even further towards the release, I can't wait to play it in June.

I really did want to get the OG version.....luckily for me...just as i was gonna finally bite the bullet....that infamous Nvidia leak came out, when it saw this game on that list...i decided to just hold out...and boy am i glad i did, that PC version looks smooth af.

I scored the steel case cover edition of SMTV for $20 used. This is about to be my first double dip ever 🤩 Played it in 2022. Just started Nocturne recently.

I'm confuse. Is this a entire new game or a dlc? If a had the OG could i buy this as a dlc or something?

I played the original and really enjoyed it so I'll probably get this one. But is is like... The original game with added content or a bigger story? Or like is it some sort of sequel? Like I do not understand what this game is. Lol

Its 2 games in 1. The campain of OG version + the vengueance route. New content, new demons, new mechanics. The OG version was +80 gane hours of content and they promised the Vengueance route its the same, +80 hours

Imagine pokemon if pokemon could only learn like 3 or 4 total moves by leveling up, and after a few levels they completely run out of new moves to learn so you have to fuse it with another pokemon to make a new one that can continue learning new moves. Basically you'll be catching and fusing new demons constantly throughout the whole game. You catch them by talking to them, their reaction to what you say is mostly random will cause them attack you, flee, or negotiate. During negotiations they basically shake you down for stuff, it can be your items, money, or even hp and mp. You have to give them what they what they want if you them to join you.

There's never any kind of recruitment % requirement in these games. If you recruit something it's usually because you want to take advantage of its resistances (the battle system makes weakness and resistances super important because it gives you or loses you party turns) or you want to fuse it and pass down skills.

You don’t usually need to complete a Pokédex kind of thing, to complete the game. You may would end up recruiting a whole bunch of demons, but Demon Stock and Fusion exist.

So i have to start again from the beginning with this game after spending over 90 hours on the first (never was able to beat the demi fiend in the dlc)?

I wish they have a mode to change only one character’s voice from English to Japanese while keeping the other voice actors in English because I don’t trust Daman Mills after I heard what he did.😕 Even if there’s already an option to change the audio and text from English to Japanese.

I’m new to the Persona series and have a genuine question. Is this game like a spinoff universe of the Persona universe? Whenever I look up something on the wiki for Persona game stuff, the wiki is named the “Megami Tensei Wiki”. Or are they related in some other way that I don’t know of?

Man while I'm excited for this and will be picking it up, I can't help but feel like Atlus duped me into paying $60 for what was essentially a beta, what with how cliffnotes-like the story and characters ended up being. I get this is nothing new from Atlus, but starting with P5 it feels like this is starting to become a systematic thing, people are now expecting new releases to get updated versions in a couple years, making the base game feel 'unfinished' as a result (which felt very much the case with V). It makes me truly ask if I'll pick up the eventual Persona 6 at launch at all.

It's kind of both? It has the original plot and a new alternate storyline that is very different, branches from the original very early on and is another game's worth of plot in itself. It also has a lot of gameplay and QOL improvements from the base game.

Cool. It's not like I just got around to buying 5 in December or anything. And then was disappointed when it was an absolute slog, complete with some of the least interesting characters I've encountered in a JRPG. Definitely makes me want to pay full price for a game I already have, but how it should've been in the initial release. Gotta say, the amount of double dipping makes me reluctant to buy ANY Atlus games anymore. Especially since these days it's with games that didn't even feel finished in the initial release.

I don't know if Nintendo can hear me and take my idea, but once I had a dream about a new Donkey Kong game called "Donkey Kong Country: Siren's charm" where Donkey Kong island is invaded by evil mermaids, so Donkey Kong and friends must've go through the island to save it and stop the evil mermaids, and that Kiddy Kong, Candy Kong, Enguarde and Expresso have returned and some returning themes like Nuts and Bolts, Hot Head Hop, Stilt Village and Flight of the Zinger; that would be awesome. Please Nintendo release another Donkey Kong Country game.

Nintendo, you are making a metaverse with Ubisoft and Unreal Engine. The silence shouldn’t be this loud for this long. But understand that too much noise could get in the way of a bigger picture. But please know that we have lost so many people. So many good people in our lives that our wait all feels in vein. Friends and families that we visioned would stay with us to see a brighter future are not a around like they used to. Friends and families that you have done dirty for not knowing your true intentions. You didn’t tell us to be patient, but you didn’t tell us how else to be fans. So many people have felt like they don’t even fit it because their games are banned. But the question is, were we even enough to begin with? And are still a massive part of Nintendo just as much as any other? This very question, if and when this metaverse comes to life, will be asked in the future.
