as a long time fan of this franchise i'm very happy that SMT isnt a big thing here in India nor is it officially available on most systems here, 'cause boy this comment section is cringe, and the irony is that this is probably the only JRPG franchise that actually does proper justice to Hinduism lore and designs, these people just assume things in face value. I got to beat him at around level 95, but hoo boy did that take a lot of trial and error. I'm surprised you didn't use any dispel charms or Dekaja. It would have gotten rid of the defense debuff and saved you some MP. I think what made this battle so much harder is how much they inflated the MP costs of Luster Candy, Debilitate and Mediarahan.

So glad I'm not the only one who used Yoshitsune until the endgame. Truly the most underrated demon

Such amazing music and awesome fight. Even fully prepared one turn was all it took to nearly waste me. Thankfully I was basically one last rally from winning (magatsuhi critical) but damn if it wasn't exciting from start to finish. Also Shiva's depiction in this game is great.

Or they think they'd get actual backlash from Christians over it, which I doubt given that I'm pretty sure Jesus is in a fighting game, and Dante's Inferno, the game based on the book of the same name, had to manufacture outrage for there to be any. Atlus being ignorant to the majority of the world being secular doesn't make depicting people's gods disrespectful.

@@espada9000 Oh? I kept his supports alive and they could barely damage me and Shiva only used Tandiva once because of it, which is the only move that was actually dangerous. The only ally you have to kill is the snake and then it's GG because you can tank everything else that's not Tandiva. Just a battle of attrition, rather than having to constantly guard against Tandiva or depend on enduring souls.

I know you playing in normal mode, in hard mode Shiva is very more powerful

My team was: MC with Null phys and Odin essence for reflect elec, Tao(my stupid ass relyed on her not knowing certain...things) with null phys on her, Fafnir with null fire for that coverage, and Odin because his reflect elec matched nicely with everyone else's nulls. Idk what's the best team to use, but that was my main party for it, and as long as you remember to kill ALL of the adds when he prepares Magatsuhi so he only has two press turns to work with. Such a good fight IMO.

This is super cool how they added Lord Shiva in it and the other Gods as well. Though the bars that cover half of the screen are irritating and the lack of longer fight scenes without lots of blood are disappointing. I have to admit the creators of this game have balls to add Hindu gods to it. Hope that it doesn’t get cancelled because of Hindu’s. I would love The good old fashioned Kratos fight the hindu gods one by one and the final boss fight to be Maa’ Kali The Death Goddess. Kratos must fight Satan as well and in his full dragon form from chapter revelations.What would be the ultimate boss fight would be fighting God. Now that would be epic beyond comprehension.👍

I would actually love to see a manga/anime based on Hindu mythology with gods and demons like Ganesh, Kali, Ravana etc. I know the Japanese would do a great job of making it good and thrilling

Wait how is this disrespectful, I'm Hindu and this feels fine, Shiva is lord of destruction, his role is to smite all things and beings that have outlived their purpose, that way brahma can create something else, this is what Shiva is said to be in Hinduism, this portrayal of Shiva is natural

Chill man it's a video game, it is FICTITIOUS and not real, in other games you are allowed to kill humans that does not mean you are allowed to or the game is telling you to kill people in real life because that is also not stated in any law or moral and ethical code anywhere around the world, games are not supposed to depict what is real but a fictitious imaginary what if scenario. This game has its own lore Basically to simplify one great God usurped all other gods and threw away their powers which is referred to as a knowledge and hid it in the garden of eden(derived from christianity) one eve and adam ate the apple they forever tied the knowledge of the gods to themselves, when a being whose knowledge had been stripped away comes into contact with the human that holds their knowledge they become what is known as a nahobino, essentially a being with the same power as the great God that usurped all others The protagonist is a nahobino and Shiva even without his knowledge is one of the hardest bosses in game

Jesus isn't a warrior, however his father YHVH was the antagonist and final boss of the previous game. So they went even harder

The premise of the game is that the abrahamic god who they call by their name is dead You fight YHVH as a boss in 2 of the games YHVH is a literal tyrant, who in 1 genocides humanity twice and attempts to do it a third time in 2 And its made by the Japanese, who also include their mythological figures, and in this game their heavenly gods have died The fact they made Shiva the strongest non DLC boss in the game is a testament to his status as the destroyer God They also don't make him out to be evil

demon is just a broad term for the mythological stuff in this game, it doesn't ACTUALLY mean they are referring to the bad types of demon. an example of something like this would be the pokemon in pokemon, they just named it pokemon so it would be easier to indicate the entire roster of pokemon.
