By the way, for those unfamiliar with the series, you may be thinking, "oh, a level 48 boss this early in the game, they're just gonna make me come back 50 hours later and fight it then." That's not the case at all. With proper team composition, you can take down bosses sometimes double or even triple your level with just a couple tries, and it feels very satisfying to do. For example, in SMT IV, about 25 hours in I found a level 75 enemy. It promptly three-shot my entire party, but I learned its weakness. So the next try, I used buffs effectively and spammed its weakness, and . . . Still lost. But the very next time, I was able to crush it. The crushing difficulty works both ways, and it's a ton of fun to finally give a tough boss a taste of their own medicine.

Looking at the battle, I believe the enemy might have low accuracy. Maybe if we spam Sukukaja and Sukunda and inflict poison in the enemy we can slowly take him down.

You I know what? I had an ephinany after reading this comment. I'm gonna say something I dont think anyone has realized. *All the protags look out of place when compared to each other* Think about it. Smt 1 is just some kid, who ends with some advanced armor. SMT2 is this bright yellow futuristic pseudo Jesus. SMT3 is some kid with cool glowing tattoos who's half demon and half human. SMTSJ is a marine from the UN who looks like a space marine with an advanced looking gun with a suit called the Demonica. SMT4 is a Samurai with a smartphone gauntlet in a world where it's the modern era. SMT4A is a kid who actually has the most "normal" design but after being resurrected is more green and less normal. Lastly theres this guy who looks straight out of a scifi flick. I'm not sure how to feel about this new guys design tbh. But in conclusion they are all weirdos in their own way.

This is my hope, my dream, and my aspiration! The timing would match up perfectly as well. Release of SMTV with the rate we've been getting Smash characters at. Mainline SMT is one of the most influential series ever, and it's tragic that we don't have a rep yet. Joker is close, but just not quite there. Nahobino could be a great addition to the roster, should they choose to down that path. Pray to the Gods of whichever route you follow that Sakurai and the team hear us!

I was a little bit conflicted about his design... but now i can't unsee it and i like it more.

This is a day one purchase for me as this is my favorite series and most anticipated game for the past several years, BUT.. I'm hopeful that there is enough time to work out some of the kinks here when it comes to texture pop in and the stutter for the battle result screen + going back to the world map after the battle result screen.

I think this isn't a switch problem and more a UE4 problem, Tales of Arise has the same texture pop in, and isn't even being released on switch

I think this isn’t really a Switch problem. The game is graphically not PlayStation 4/5 level, so I feel like it’s Unreal Engine 4. Besides, there’s 5 months. The game is completed so they have 5 months to bug fix and ship the game.

This game is more beautiful than I expected but goddammit I miss the effect in SMT4 with low graphics, where you can cut enemies in half, burn them, blow them away or punch them out of screen. It was so satisfy.

You have a point. I liked the animation of enemy demons falling in pieces or getting vaporized.

Well it's hard to see but in one of the trailers (don't remember which) you can see a demon being killed by an ice spell probably just bugs and they shatter like 4 and 4a so its probably still in 5 but maybe with the 3d is harder to notice

I think IV's 3d looks really nice for the 3ds

I can’t stress enough how beautiful this game looks. No way am I gonna buy those HORRIBLE looking Diamond and Pearl Remakes compared to this, Sword and Shield looks like a joke compared to this.

@Albert Okorogu yes but it's because the VEEEERY lazy developers like legends Arceus but that's not make the game bad (at all).

That has to be the best hair physics on Switch, right? Like, I feel like I can just stare at it forever........

I wasn't super invested into SMT after only just playing P5, which i adore. I gave the remake of smt3 a try and have been loving it and now im super invested into this newer game. Their marketing strategy worked.

I am so glad to see someone who can play both a Persona game and a SMT game ... and remain Neutral. A Like for you.

Been waiting way too long for this. It was the only game I wanted to see some info on during E3 this year. SMT Nocturne remaster has definitely helped scratch that itch, but still cant wait

Ah yes, the pain of demons eating your macca and then going "welp byebye" I'll pick this up day 1 for sure

I've been waiting 4 years for this & finally it's worth the wait, moon phases are back, & the game looks gorgeous, fully 3D & the demons look phenomenal, This game is the biggest hype for me this year.

THIS is the Switch's big game for this year. Blown away, cannot wait!

Did you guys notice? The icon for "rising one" and "falling one" (as the speedrunners call it) are different. The PS2 SMT games didn't do that. That's amazing! (As in, when the Moon Phase is 1/8, the icon is different depending on if the next phase is NEW or 2/8)

@@mads_in_zero The only reason it didn't happen in Nocturne was because there isn't a moon in that game, just Kagutsuchi getting dimmer and brighter. There is, presumably, an actual moon in SMT 5, that waxes and wanes like our moon does.

This has been my most anticipated game for years and so happy to finally have so much gameplay however i gotta say these 2 presenters have such fun chemistry, would absolutely watch them stream or do let's plays together

Main event for me tbh, not botw even tho I'm psyched for that too

Botw was the main event for me but this game looks dope. I have never played an SMT game before but I MIGHT have to get this for the holidays

The way this game looks gives me a lot of hope for Atlus games in the future. The art direction and execution here is truly amazing.

The graphics are phenomenal

This game Will Be the reason why I Will buy a switch

Get the OLED model if you don't already have a console. I already have a service lite so I'm going to stick with it until the steam deck drops

The UI elements for battle and level up reminds me of what was used in Tokyo Mirage Sessions. Nice to see something familiar since I haven't played any other main SMT games.

I am so excited. This game is why I bought a Switch.

These fully 3D demons are absolutely perfect recreations of the 2D art, even down to the unique animations... Looks spectacular. And a Switch game pulling off glorious hair physics better than AAA PlayStation/Xbox/PC games!

@Matthiew Purple It’s how Chiaki, Isamu, Yuko, and Hikawa are able to get Demonic Sponsors to support their Reasons in SMT3. Also in SMT3, it’s a source of sustenance for demons.

@@aldosetang9799 Well I think all the endings are "canon" since SMT uses a multiverse system. But if this is a sequel it probably follows from the Freedom ending where you reset everything to before the conception occurred.

I bought a Switch just for this game 4 years ago, and finally, FINALLY I will be able to play this!

I'm SO looking forward to this! Hopefully there's a special edition.

The world, the battle animations, the battle system/ menus all look great. This game can't come out soon enough.

@@megascizor8275 i dont think so. based on old pokemon series, their standard is quite high untill sword amd shield came out because of pokemon company pressure gamefreak to make a new game (hear me out) less than a year. that's why their games is getting low on graphics, they have no time to make their games looked better🤦‍♂️.

I'm way more hyped for this than any other jrpg. Finally SMT is about to return and it looks phenomenal.

This game looks so good. So awesome finally seeing gameplay.

The overworld, the animations, the graphics. This is what pokemon sword/shield could have been!

Smt is always great but this is so much better than I expect.

I just finished Nocturne like 4 days ago (My first SMT game) and now I really wanna play this game!!! I cannot wait! EDIT : I finished Nocturne 2 days ago actually...

Damn this looks really good! SMT has been one of those series I've watched from a distance, now I'm interested!
