This is the real deal not reverb or compression like the 80 percent of the videos in KZread recordings. This a great master at work! God bless
I got hip to an album he put out called 'Tender Toys' back in the 90's. This piece kind of reminds me of that. A bit of jazz, blues and experimental/off time random coolness.
What a gorgeous performance!
Lovely to hear his tone grow, particularly of from the 7.05 mark. Really!!!, listen to the performance until that point in stead of complaining about the loss of sound of from 7.05,... A true player, love it. Enjoyed it;-)
Hika was dedicated to Toru Takemitsu

The piece is an homage to Takemitsu but the piece is dedicated to Fukuda, it means probably Fukuda did the premier of the piece
!!
Wonderful sound. Does anyone know what kind of guitar he is playing?

Pauzidi Ipuing He probably has a lot of personal notes about the piece in terms of phrasing, dynamics, accentuation, tone, etc. I’m guessing it’s more of a reminder as to how he would like to craft the performance.

As a classical guitarist, I got hooked on playing with scores in front of me. @Ryan Blais is right, sometimes you just want to check your personal notes. But also, you get a different feel from reading a book than reading it aloud from memory: it's not security (probably the more obvious reason to do it), but the feeling of Reading.

Because he is not good enough to understand music itself
