So I've noticed that for the past month, views have been skyrocketing on this vid more than ever, and people are still asking how I "removed the music". So let me just clarify something. 1. I never actually removed the actual background soundtrack from the video, what I did was I muted the original clip, and then added original sound effects into the vid, such as fire, destruction of buildings, and random jet sounds. 2. People were pointing out that some of the sfx sounded very familiar to previous effects from previous Godzilla films, the reason for that is that I was starting to run out of sfx to use for shin godzilla and practically didn't know what else to add. 3. This video was originally supposed to be about 2 minutes long, but toho removed the original cuz they strict af, so apologies if the video sounds kinda choppy at times.

Recreating all the audio is super impressive and it turned out awesome! My favourite part is the breathing around 0:40, super creepy and totally fits Shin Goji perfectly. I will say I feel that the glass VFX at 0:25 don't fit too well but other than that everything else is great!

The fact that it has to vomit smoke and fire before it reaches the plasma/atomic phase, and that it has a special set of eyelids to protect *itself* from its own breath, really highlights the actual horror of it all.

And there’s 2 things that make this scene better 1.) we later see that Goji doesn’t *need* to to vomit the smoke and fire to get to the plasma/atomic phase, so this was him using it for the first time and we were watching him experiment with it. 2.) it wouldn’t surprise me if this move hurt him a lot, similar to how vomiting on an empty stomach really does a number on the esophagus and mouth

All the heat rays going everywhere was a lot of him expelling radiation that he probably couldn't fully control.

It was like a cutting torch turning on if youve ever seen that. getting the gas to flow and then igniting it, then dialing in the gas pressure until you have a beam. He was figuring the move out trying to get it right at the beginning until you see him understand it. Its cool how he lets out a ton of unlit gas that spreads all over the city then when he finally ignites his pilot light all the gas throughout the city also gets burned up. Oddly realistic.

@@ElPibeMilanesa Probably because the lyrics to "Under a Burning Sky" didn't quite fit the scene that was playing out? Even if it did, I don't think it was necessary. Godzilla had already learned that it could evolve to defend itself, and was learning how to overcome its own shortcomings in that regard, such as its limited supply of atomic fuel. Again, I'm quite sure "Who Will Know?" is from Godzilla's point of view, and it's the lines "A shaft of light is all I need to cease the darkness killing me" that seal it for me. The "shaft of light" is clearly in reference to his heat ray and photon beams, and "the darkness killing me" is the sudden attack from the high-altitude bombers that Godzilla wasn't expecting. He evolved a phased array radar system as well as his atomic breath and photon beams in response to this surprise attack.

The hollywood Godzilla we have currently is the gold standard to me, just a nice balance in terms of eldritch horror and badass action film monster. But I gotta say that THIS Godzilla is just a pure horror. A simple-minded animal turned into natural catastrophe, just a force of nature with no deep thoughts, no malice, no nothing. Just a natural catastrophe made by humans. It is absolutely terrifying because it is designed in such way that you feel no inner inteligence or character to this monster. It truly looks braindead and going purely off of instinct. You literally cannot relate to it, you can only fear it or maybe pity it, but you cannot relate to it, because there is no grasp of character/personality to it, compared to the hollywood one. And I love this version for it.

It always looks bad, doesn't really reflect Godzilla's mannerisms, and they always try to make him more "cool guy"-esque than necessary. Godzilla has ALWAYS been a force of nature with animal instincts. He's territorial, he gets what he needs to sustain himself, and once he's done, he goes away. Thx for the effort dude, the scene is a lot more scarier and immersive without the music. Awesome work! Dont get me wrong, I love the music in Shin Godzilla and i wouldnt wanna miss it, when it came out. However it wouldve been amazing if Toho had released the blueray with the option to switch the music off. But then its Toho a pretty braindead company thats just out to milk the franchise. I mean even Hideaka Anno said in an interview the only reason we got to see different stages of shin godzilla as intended, was because bandai namco stepped in and convinced Toho, that it was a great idea cause then they could sell more toys, rofl In germany the blueray didnt even have the original japanese voiceover for a japanese movie, like wtf?? 😂 So thats the Toho we are dealing with Ps. I think the reason you are seing more views now, is cause the new Godzilla Minus One movie is coming out and it already looks like a milking product, and people reminise about how absolutely outstanding and unique Shin Godzilla was and how against all common sence, Anno isnt directing a Shin Godzilla 2 Anywho, i would love to see your 2 minute version! Thx

I think the audio was rebuilt in editing! I think there are some audio effects that you can’t hear in the original version with the music, like the sound of the membrane covering Godzilla’s eye before he spews fire. I don’t think that sound effect was added in the movie version… I could be wrong tho.

Another attention to detail and also showing how powerful this version of his atomic breath is, notice how the beam does not lag at all, not even one bit when he is quickly moving his head around. That is some fuckin force abd pressure, on top of whatever heat or kinetic properties. Its a straight up atomic laser. Strongest versuon of hia atomic breath, hands down.
